Speeding fine for parked car
Published: Tuesday, 29 January, 2008, 02:22 AM Doha Time

A Qatari national was wrongly penalised by the Traffic Department for speeding while the vehicle in question was parked elsewhere, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported.

The fault committed by the Traffic Department came to light only when the Qatari demanded to see the photo taken by the speed radar.
The car caught in the picture was another vehicle and the Qatari did not have to pay the fine, the daily added.

I got one for "loading a vehicle..." etc, for a time when my car was in the basement, and I was in a meeting. Al Soudan-al Aziziya-al Murra. I don't even know where these places are?? Qr500. Nooooooo....

Do I send the mandoub in to fight it, or just give up now and pay as I'm not Qatari.

My boss has the same fine i.e. loading car that casuse damage...........

It ended up over speeding fine. He got the pictures of his car for the same date and time.

Guess its Qatari translation of over speeding from arabic o english

Oh guess what? I just checked mine and damn I got fined for Qrs. 500 too. On MOI's english portal it said fine for loading car that causes damage or harm to others property. But in Arabic it says for speeding.

Apparently, they now charge Qrs. 50 if you wanna have a look at the picture taken by radar. I don't mind paying that money, at least my mind will be at peace.

Would they have bothered checking the photo if the person in question hadn't been a Qatari, I wonder?
