Help wanted with Nintendo Wii

Hi,

I was lucky enough to get a Nintendo Wii for Christmas from my wife.

I currently have a couple of games but have been trying to access the Wii Shopping Channel to get some classic virtual console games.

Everytime I try to access the shopping channel it tells me I have to finalise the End User Agreements. When I go to the End User agreements it tells me that Wii Shopping Channel and Wii Connect 24 are not currently available.

I have tested my internet connection which seems to be working.

Am I doing something wrong or are the above services just not available in Qatar?

Not sure whether it makes any difference but I have the American (NTSC Version)as opposed the the British PAL version.

If anyone can help I would be really grateful.

Thanks

if you can access it from Qatar.

Thanks for your help.

I am using a Wi-Fi connection and have followed the instructions that are on page 56 of the channels and settings manual.

It is finding the wireless access point, which is the same network that I use to connect to the internet with my PC. It then does a connection test, which says it succeeds in connecting.

It then offers to download the latest software. After a short wait it informs me that the latest software is already loaded.

When I then go down and click on User Agreements (under Internet) it asks me if I want to use WiiConnect 24 and Wii Shop. I click on yes, it starts connecting then comes up with a message stating, "WiiConnect24 and Wii Shop Channel Services is not currently being offered".

I am guessing from your comments that you can access WiiConnect 24 and the Wii Shop Channel in Qatar.

the fact that even though you have an internet connection you dont have a wireless router. If you dont have a wire less router then the Wi Fi connection wont work and you will have to phisically use a connection cable.

to set up the unit using the Internet connection.

Go into Wii options (bottom left) of main screen

Go into Wii settings

Go to page 2

Set up your Internet and Wii connect 24 options.

Instructions are in the manual.

You can also update your software on line
