I really dont know if this has happened with anybody here.. From the past 2 nights their is a demolishing work going on right in front of my flat & every time they smash on something, they literally wake me up..... I fell like I am sleeping in some area where their is some excavation or mining work is going on......... Is their any law which says that construction work or such kind of works to be done only during the day time and not it the night??

Vishwanath I feel for you, as I know how that construction noise can drive you insane. Ear plugs can help and maybe try sleeping in the part of your place where you can't hear it as much.

Thanks to all of u for the advice & suggestions. I now feel that I rather need to go with the wind than wait for it to go....

So, I need to say myself... Welcome to Doha... :)

Where I lived before I didn't have a decent sleep for a entire year. Where I live now- it's so quiet that I cannot sleep either :)

don't you have any friends from where you can sleep over with, until they finish whatever they are digging from your place...just a suggestion..:)

The Contractors have unrealistic dead lines to achive and working 2 shifts is normal for Construction Industry here to achive the Targets. (:

I can understand if it's done at night when it's super hot during the day, but it's very windy at night these days.

Construction so loud where I live the vibrations keep knocking things off shelves, and I live 18 storeys up! Live in Qatar = no sleep :)

there is no any law against it. Near my house they were doing some work started around 10pm. So you will be able to sleep when they finish it. I know this is not the thing you wanted to hear.

construction, demolishing and building.. this is the only law as for now...they are willing to work 24/7 to pay their investments back ..

also Day and Night is a relative concept. Whatever is Night for you might be Day for them.. and opposit...For me 5-6 am is the middle of the night.. but some QLers by that time are awake yet making out to GYM or to Corniche for a walk...Kill me, I could never do it at 5am !!!
