Teen Baby Sitters?

aprilfamily
By aprilfamily

We are moving to Doha next month (wow, it's wierd to say that - it's so close now!).

I have a daughter who is kept very busy babysitting here and she is wondering if people use teen babysitters there.  Not only does she love being with kids, but she loves the money too!

We have family in the Middle East and know that many people there use maids or such to watch children when they go out.  Is it a similar situation in Doha?  Should I prepare her for disappointment from now?

I'm 18 and looking for a summer job, I love kids and would love to be a babysitter; I study medicine and hence know first aid, I have also participated at a nursery before. I can plan activities for your kids,to keep them entertained through the summer. I will not charge a lot.

I have a lot of love and care to shower your kids with! I can do anything from changing diapers to playing with them.

For those of you who are interested send me a PM :)

teen baby sitter could be a great one to handle our babies but we must have to look forward on their age if they are allowed by our LAW to work such like that. :)

I am a 21 years old girl, married and from Bosnia. I speak 5 languages (Bosnian, Swedish, Danish, English & German), currently learning Arabic as well.I am very familiar with taking care of kids and baby sitting them. I have got a lot of experience with it and i love it. I have one baby brother in Sweden that I took care of all the time,

I'm loving, caring and very kind, specially around kids. I will babysit kids in the morning (typically around 7 to 4 but I am also flexible) after you drop them by my house (I'll take care of the kids and their hygiene and meals as well in my house) as advised by the mother of the kid.

I would like to communicate with the mother of the child, or any other female member of the family. Upon agreement and arrangements you are always most welcomed to visit me initially at a time agreed on.

I am a religious Muslim, and very familiar and accustomed to many different traditions and cultures as I lived my whole life in Denmark and Sweden and just stepped out of Europe, for the first time in my life, to come to Qatar. Feel free to contact me on my email: Mekii90/-a-t-/gmail.com for any further details. Note: I am flexible with the charges and im living in Al-Gharafa area, also I only want WOMEN to call, NOT men :)

lizanne, 10 riyal an hour is way too low. Decent baby sitter goes by the rate at least 20 to 25 QR an hour.

Life is differente here, you might read post like boriiiing, it's true, because the parents in some cases are not involved. With activities and good communication with them, they can be very busy, and the time in this region pass very fast, if your kid is enrolled in a good school than let see if there's time for baby setting, and also she will have a lot of friends overhere let her enjoye and experience a multicultural society, she will grow stronger, this is from a mother to mother welcome to Qatar.

I agree with formatted soul, how they can managed on week days, My son was asked for music lessons, first he was excited, than after one month he started to worry about revisons, time consuming already on the traffic . plus the sport evening, I will suggest to all parents to think about it only for the week ends.

I think aprilfamily's daughter (if i am not mistaken) charging QR 35 an hour plus taxi cost. Her dad is a doctor and mum is a nurse (excuse me if i am wrong, it been a while since last time I am inquiring about her), so in case of emergency she have a good backup.

My sitter cost QR 25 an hour plus taxi, or you can pick her up and drop her back at her house. She study in Doha College.

How much is it to pay a babysitter per hour? My baby is 18 months old.

Can anybody recommend somebody, I just do not want to drop or let anybody come into my house to look after my baby without recommendation.

Wow!!

I'll share the good news with her.  I know she'll be happy to hear she will be able to babysit so much there.  Sometimes I think she'd rather do that than hang out with kids her own age.

Hubby found housing for us.  All I know is that it is near D-Ring Road and Nijmeh (sp?) Street, near a mall.  Hopefully that will be near to some of you.

i dont really need money from this part time job

i just need foods to keep me alive without using my primary salary

She'll be glad to know that people do use teens there.  I've seen so many requests for domestic help involving babysitting that I didn't want to get her hopes up.

And, Novita, I hope I didn't come across as advertising!! LOL!!  She'll be 13 when we get there (in late-March/early April), but has gone through the Red Cross's Safe Sitter program, learning CPR and all kinds of safety stuff.  Unfortunately, I'm not sure where we'll be living.  My husband is still trying to find housing for us.  I think he's looking at a couple of places in the Al Muntaza (sp?) area.

April,

Along with what Novita said, if you will be living in a compound there are always lots of opportunities for teens to babysit.   I like it because our daughter doesn't leave the compound while babysitting and we generally know everyone she is babysitting for plus we are close incase their is a problem.

Hey April ... how old is your teen? My son's baby sitter used to be 14 yrs old boy who now moving back to the UK for his study.

If you dont live very far from my place i dont mind to use her. My deal usually my friend dropped her son for baby sitting then i take her son back to their house. I can use the same deal with your daughter i guess. And i normally pay QR 15 an hour.

Drop me a PM when you get to Doha :D
