Family Visa

Hi,

I have been issued a work visa and will have to enter Doha soon. The problem is my family is with me in Bahrain and need to travel with me for schooling purposes. The Company PRO insists that I travel first, get my RP stamped which he says will take 14- 21 days and then apply for a 6 months family visit visa for my family to enter Qatar.

I am not sure this is the only way in and would appreciate any help on the subject.

Can my family travel with me - me on work visa they on GCC resident visa?

Can this visa be converted to RP while they are still in Qatar or do they have to exit?

Any other suggestions?

Hi all, My hubby has got a Business visa to enter Doha. His employer has sent only that visa. Can it be converted to work visa?. If so, what is the procedure. Also me and my kids want to move there from India in a month or more. How long it will take for the entire process?. Can anyone suggest me a good indian school?. How is the cost of living over there?

Sure, I have previously traveled within the GCC with my family - thats no problem.

Will the same apply when I am trying to enter on a work visa and if yes, can the family's visa be converted to a RP within a months time?

Not Qatar ID : Any GCC ID o.k. can inquire from the  airport visa section in QATAR .

I dont have a Qatar ID yet. I am being transfered from Bahrain where my ID says Purchasing Manager- but my Qatar visa has Accountant on it- does this qualify?

I think you may get along with your family on arrival if holding Professional designation on your ID
