Hi, i am very glad to be a member of this site! i am originally from south Korea but living in Vienna.
Never lived in a English speaking country so i apologize in advance for my mistakes in English!!winking smiley
My husband is originally from Moscow but grew up in London, living in Vienna with me and our 6-month-old baby daughter.
We will be in Doha in 6 months. We are very excited about it. Would need your friendly advice!
We are both musicians. i am a pianist and my husband is a violinist. we give recitals and play with orchestras etc.
Is there any item which we must take there with us? ( things which are difficult to get in Doha for example..)
Thank you in advance and have a nice day!

Yes its a good starting salary if your company pays for accommidation and transport.

Most things are available and a lot cheaper than in vienna. No VAT here.

Home stores have good sales on linens.

If you have a favorite medication/beauty product then bring it with you as that is limited.

Vitamins are very expensive and poor selection.

Welcome to Doha :), most of the stuff are already available in the market here. the only thing is that the prices are going up. a villa would be very suitable to raise a child by the way ;) it is a single detached or attached (duplex) house there would be one or two storey villas. but most of the new ones are two storey villas with your very own garage ;)

we are still in vienna. thank you for inviting us! yes, some side gigs would be great though. we will contact them. maybe some lunchtime concert would be interesting! by the way,how far is the education city from city center? how is it?

we will get one of those off-site-housing villas(so called..no idea)...

they are expensive...towels and bath mats...for whatever reason...linens and bath items are expensive here...Also...mattress pads for a king size bed are difficult to find. There's other little things that I ship over to myself but those are the kinds of things that you will have to find out for yourself that  you miss enough to have someone ship to you. Other than that, just about everything is available here, you just have to look for it...
