4 month wait for new Landcruiser
So, you go through endless discussions and thoughts. Which car? Can we afford it?......yep, let's do it. Let's buy a new Landcruiser (not a Prado, by the way).
AAA say it's a 4 MONTH WAIT LIST. To add insult to injury, it's QR20,000 to get yourself onto the wait list.
What's that about?
Last time I experienced such a thing was back in 1981 when my parents splashed out on a new Vauxhall Viva!!!
To date, we have only purchased 2nd hand cars in Doha. That's been okay. However, we decided to go new this time.
It seems that getting a new Landcruiser is not for us. (Who is it for then?) We were told we can have a Prado - but that's not what we want.
Strangest of all, AAA couldn't give a damn that they won't be getting our business.
I feel annoyed at that. Now we will have a look at Nissan. I'm sure they are fine - but not our first choice.
Whaaa

Who's sobbing?
I'm not. I am merely amused at the attitude of a car dealership. End of story.
Glad to know you're doing your very best to make the world a better place "surfer_boy".
Are you sure you've got time to read these frivolous threads? You are probably running a soup-kitchen for the under-privileged somewhere. Don't tell me, you get there by bicycle. Driving is not for a green, clean living guy like you. Good on you for caring.
As it happens, I am a careful woman driver. Have been driving for over 25 years without incident. I do a lot of mileage around the city with my precious cargo of children. You've really pissed me off with your dumb-arse comments.
Go annoy somebody else. We don't need your sarcastic remarks here.
the same thing.... We are still waiting for land cruiser 2008...
But don't be so happy for nissan.. last year I spent almost 6 (!) months waiting for nissan pathfinder, and i didn't get it. I came to nissan upset from waiting list in toyota, the same youir's situation, they told me "next week".And "next week" continiued for almost 6 months...
At least, better to wait and to get what you want, then not to get al all......
Still, I'm very angry on nissan...
Good luck...!
Thanks for responses everyone.
Lucky you r7! We don't know anyone influential - we just have cash - which doesn't count for much. Another case of outrageous customer service and arrogance it seems.
Anyway, Nissan were more than happy to talk to us today.
All the other dealerships deserve to benefit from AAA's sloppy customer care.
i was told by someone that AAA were selling their ex - stock of the previous model LCs at a cheaper rate....and there are many of it...does anyone know anything anout it..is it true??
another reason for it being popular here is the dune driving!!!
They r really good.. But the demand for these vehicles here are just crazy like Kiwipaula said.. u have to wait a long long time if u dont know some 1 on the inside just to book ur car..
infact it is a really good car...don't like the design much but its tough and a true 4X4, easy and cheap maintaince as well.
I've never understood the appeal of having a car that nearly everyone else in the country has as well, even if they are really really good! (Are they that good?). Be proud to drive something different from the crowd!
I've seen lots of the new land cruisers with zero mileage in their weekly magazine

My old dear had one of them when i was a wee bairn.
On the Landcruiser part, dont bother. You wouldnt have to wait if you were a Qatari. They put their own countrymen first.
Try a Toyota Fortuner, thats what i've got, and its a very good 4x4.
