Recycle bin in Qatar?

Does anyone knows whether there is any recycle bin (for aluminium cans, plastic bottles, papers, etc) in Qatar?? It is sad to see all these recyclable stuff be disposed off in other way.

Thanks in advance!

they do have bins, but whats the point when you dont have recycling facilities in qatar?

Yikes!

Rinsing cans with potable water in a country which has to put lots of energy into desalinating it first... Doesn't that ruin the effect of recycling?

That's what I am doing. Packed the rinsed cans or mineral water bottles separately with garbage. But I found that the cleaners just dump everything into the garbage truck.

Guess we just keep each other inform should any of us found any recycle bin around Qatar!

My cleaner told me that there are guys who go through the rubbish at the bottom of the rubbish chute in our apartment block (don't know if I understood her correctly). But I always collect cans in a separate bag and once every couple of weeks or so throw that down the chute.

I vaguely recall someone once saying that there's recycling point near Burger King, (the one at the other roundabout near TV roundabout).

I don't know if that's true or not.

I would also like to know.

But in the meantime, throw your cans away separately to make life easier for the guys who trawl through the trash.  Drinks cans and also food cans, but rinse out the food cans first.
