Is there any Muay Thai or MMA in Doha.?

Six
By Six

The subject says it all..... Is there anywhere here in Doha, where you can train MMA.?

As far as I been reading in this forum, there was some kind of training before, but so far I haven't been able to locate anything myself. (and most of the postes are to old to be valid anymore)

I'm not into "common" martial art such as taekwondo, aikido, karate etc., but specific Muay Thai or MMA - Mixed Martial Art (or just Brazilian Jiu-jitsu ).

If you have any kind of info regarding this subject, please feel free to inlighten me.

Thanx

Howdy. A few females and myself (female also) are interested in any Muay Thai gyms that teach women also. I've done Muay Thai in Brisbane and would like to continue, happy to spar with guys (though I'm not sure if that is the etiquette here). My friends would just like to improve their fitness and their self defence. Any info would be great as noone, male or female, we've asked know anything about it.

Go to www.dohamap.info/map

Usually the map already has major roundabouts (intersections) marked by plus signs. Find the TV roundabout. Provided that you are driving away from the Corniche and towards Villagio on the main road (it is Al Waab St, I think), you go straight through the TV roundabout, reach the next roundabout (it is unmarked), and take the right exit. Then you take the 4th right turn (it is the last right turn before reaching Markhiya r/about). Then you take the first left turn, go all the way to the end, take right turn on T-intersection. You pass the first and second left turns, and on your left you should find the school.

I'm planning to go there tomorrow, will let people know if I got something wrong.

I've been a regular there for a couple of months now I guess... the people have been great, the weight loss has been great and what I've been learning is... well... great!

If you are even remotely considering coming out, I invite you to do so... you will be more than pleased with the experience. There's definitely some great folks there and you can't beat the price of admission!!!

Just bring water and a sweat towel... you'll need both.

Just wanted to say a quick Thanks to Abu American. I just arrived in Doha a week ago and unfortunately, the vast amount of my co-workers are female. I asked around about MMA training and, as I somewhat expected, everyone was clueless.

Looking forward to joining your group as soon as I get my bearings. I just joined a regular gym yesterday (3000 QR for 6 months??? Ouch!) and I'm really just working on adjusting to life here.

I'll be in touch!!!
