I don't think you need to worry about bringing your x-mas tree here. You will definitely enjoy your xmas especially celebrating it at the hotels here.
It might be a good idea to bring some steak and cheese pie or kidney pies not to mention the potato top pies. You will surely miss them
So kiwikitten, did you manage to find a house that meets your requirements??
IF you TRULY were in PEAK physical condition (like moi), you would have had an awsome christmas! I spent mine all day admiring my faint inducing physique inthe mirror and what could be better....the fact that you got bored after a few hours and spent it with hosers PROVES beyond the shadow of a doubt, you are not as awsome as me!
Stay safe.
Perfection does not exist. The question therefore, is: what level of imperfection are we willing to settle for?
P.S. I can only imagive how depressing it would be to spend it alone (at least I have my wife and daughter)
I have spent one Christmas here and it was terrible. Lonely and depressing. Of course, being in peak physical condition, I spent 4 hours at the gym, 3 of which were spent staring at my perfect body. After that the day went rapidly downhill.
I spent the Christmas evening with the usual fat slobs that inhabit this city. Communist Canadians, Boring Brits, Fussy french, Irritating Indians, Passive Pakistanis, Perky Phillipinos. None of them were in peak physical condition. trust me. Christmas sucks here.

He doesn't know what he's talking about because he's not in PEAK physical condition ! LOL
Seriously its getting better, some of the big hotels also decorate their lobbies with huge trees and all....but obviously it won't be exactly like you're used to back home.
Stay safe all.

If you dont have family here. But 2006 we had a big chrissy lunch and invited a few expats who were here without family over to celebrate with ours it was a great day. last year we went home though.
Go to Miami. Its much better!

sodont really take notice of when sales are. Some one else might be able to help you there.
no kids so toys are not a problem - is this a good sale time also
Also start your present shopping as early as september after eid (both) youll find a lack of toys on the shelves. so its best to get in early.
thanks will bring our own stuff we have the most beautiful tree and decorations - thanks.I know its months away but I am a forward thinker.
bring your own chrissy stuff. While some places do sell deco's and trees its not like in Aus. It was better last year but it still isn't the same as home. yep you can buy turkey just not a nice big leg of ham!!!!
its still month of april & ur already worried about christmas day! lol
Their not that strict here but celebrating christmas in ur own country to too different here...

everything is available here!!1
I am sure they are - I just love christmas and all the decorations and stuff - can u buy turkey!!!!!
They sell everything for christmas at the stores here. I don't think customs would confiscate if you want to send you's over
Hell yea :D, oh come on now, u think Qatar is that close??? Qatar is way more liberal than you think.
