How to stop my son from telling a bad word?

I would use the time out method when he does this. You have to give him two warnings and expalin to him that its not acceptable to use foul language and we dont use these words in this house. If he does it by the third time, take him to his room for time out.  Kids hate time out, keep doing it until he refrains from swearing..

It has come from us the elders in the house or around him

so first stop using it urself or by people around him

Kids usually echo what they hear. If adults around them don't swear, that's a BIG help.

wash his mouth out with soap every time he says it...that should do the trick...

toddlers are really curious and would not know what they are saying.this is what i did for my daugther and hope it helps u out...pretend that these bad words (whatever they are) mean things like "I don't want any more chocolate."

For example, if your child says "F**k" then just say "Oh! Ok, if you don't want any chocolate that's fine. I won't give you any more untill next week."

You could even create your own little dictionary on the computer that says all the bad words that he says in and then your made up definition...

S**t - I want to go to bed 2 hours early for the rest of the week.

P** - I don't want to go around my friends house like I arranged and I want to miss out on all the fun.

Point out this 'dictionary' every time he uses an unacceptable word and the meaning.

Soon, your child will realise that only bad things will come from saying these words and soon stop. That worked for me and now my daughter is afraid of sayin bad words....but it would alsobe best for not leting your son to go to his neighbor's house since kids has a mind of memorizing things so quick i know it feels pity for your son but try not to play with them.Most imporant is to have a chat with your son i know he is young but try to be creative while bonding as mother and son..hope i helped you out....take careand good luck

I used a cattle prod on mine, works a treat.

Every time he uses the *beep* word, tell him its not *beep*, its tomato(or any other normal word). Do it everytime he says it. Eventually he'll forget the bad word.

We tried it on my li'l nephew n it worked!
