Kicked off Facebook

Is Qatar more liberal than Dubai when it comes to censorship? I am sitting in the first class lounge at Dubai airport playing with my laptop and using the WiFi system they have here. I was just in the middle of sending Mila a message on Facebook when a slogan came up saying the site is banned because of religious and cultural reasons. This has never happened in Qatar. Or has it?

Not meaning to rain on the Facebook parade.  I'm sure some people have fun with Facebook.  It sure has some neat features.  But isn't it a time-killer?  It being banned would save us all a lot of time to do something more productive (like posting on QL!)

He got kick out of face book, because he is considered a UK citizen...

United Kingdom: Besides spoken American English that is the native language of about 88% (221 million people), Spanish is the one that is spoken by a sizeable minority

Yeah, there was an aritlce in one of the Dubai-based PC magazines asking people to watch what they post in their FB accounts or they would be blocked in Dubai.  Guess it has happened.

Dubai has extreme censorship

Of all the regions I've been too. Bahrain is the most open when it comes to online activity.

Actually that happened to me at LAX. The pc's there wouldn't let me log onto facebook.  (obviously the censorship never came on screen)..

Guess your fingers will lose exercise for today ;).

Just remember to take the time to do some sit ups and push ups to maintain your peak physical condition!

Stay safe bud.

Perfection does not exist. The question therefore, is: what level of imperfection are we willing to settle for?
