Ok, we need some updated posts.  Where near Doha Zoo/Villagio can we find good take away shawarma? I think the best  is found in front of Mega Mart. There is a little stall that sells chicken, lamb, and falafel shawarma/

Shawarma Lebanon on the Old Airport Road is second to none, by far the best meat shawarma.

Hmmm...I think the small cafetaria call Aruba close to the Immigration roundabout is really good.

Its close to Souq Ali( i think thats the souqs name)...the best part is..its just 4 bucks!

i dunno if they can be called shawarmas but the sanwiches they sell at Zaatar & Zeit in Souq Waqif are just superb.....yum!

there's a shop near Hyatt Pharmacy along Najma Road. Just below Al Jabor Apartments commercial strip...

I think the shop's name is somewhat Al-Hilal Cafeteria with a yellow signboard... try their shawarma there!

yep, yep! that's Al Banuche Cafeteria---serving the best egg sandwich in town! woo-hoo!!!

I always go there after my exercise for a cheap post-workout meal!:)

I have never tasted in Mandarin, although i buy always there coz my daughter loves it. Now im going to try it.

Not all branches have the same taste.

THE BEST SHAWARMA AND THE NEAREST ONE TO THE REAL LEBANESE TASTE IS IN MANDARINE OPPOSITE TO ALRAMIZ IN SALWAROAD BCZ HE IS USING THE LEBANESE ASSORTED PEPPER WHICH ARE MADE SPECIALLY FOR SHwarma ,

in general or in hakeemmthe meat taste is same but which makes difference is the special peepr ya helween

I think in order to evaluate the best shawerma in town, we have to specify what were looking for 1st, and then begin grading?

ex: quality/taste of meat 1-10

quality/taste of toppings 1-10

quality/taste of bread 1-10

quality/speed of service 1-10

etc

Best place i had shawerma; was at the sheraton, do it yourself buffet.

Anywhere else, i usually keep fingers crossed..

Try the Istanbul at Souq Ali in luqta area

it is really nice

al naser... near FFC, that one with big chicken logo outside... dunno what's d name of d store though...

at best fish restauraunt...al nasr and al sadd... or

the whole of nasr street filled with different taste to cater everyone.. chill shawarma, chicken shawarma and so on... or

al antakya or whatever in gharrafa.. or

near to rawnaq in souq acutally there are two go ones in the souq in doha... or

near tv roundabout around 5 shops...or

i feel these are really one of the best in town...

The good shawarma I had is from "'Diwaniyat Al Bhukari" restaurant in City Center.  When you go at 12pm you have to wait for atleast 15 mins to get yours. Two shawarmas is a complete lunch.

theres a small cafeteriua called banche or somewat like that by the side of the jeep showroom near toyota signal.. try the egg sandwich there and i am sure you will LOOOOOVVVEEE it!!!

i tried it once and now i go there almost everyday!!!

Also one can pick good ones from ISTANBUL - AL SAAD

Have tried couple of places here but was not impressed at all, one was full on mint leaves(wats thats all about).....but nothing beats the shawarma in EDGWARE ROAD opens 24 hrs.....yummyyyyyy......i miss thats

The best in Matar Qadeem I have ever test In Qatar. I don't know the shop name but it's a Lebanese shop. Just opposite of Ahli Bank. If you go to Matar Qadeem signal from airport then turn right go little ahead then you can find this small shop in right hand side. They have chicken & Mutton. It's QR. 6.

beside Jarash restaurant, there is a restaurant that serves Lebanese food called "upstairs downstairs" the guy who work there used to work in Al "Arabi restaurant " in Al Nasser which was the best Shawerma restaurant in Doha till it closed down 2 years ago.  

currently the guy who works in Shawerma in that restaurant is on vacation, however, this is the best Shawerma in all of Qatar

After i found many people voting for Patra & Al sultan  I tried them

1- Al Sultan : a lot of chicken without any taste in each sandwich

2- Patra: the worst shawerma i ate in Doha, a lot of salt and tahina and very bad bread

hey all,,, did u ever forget el arabi shawarma ,, it was the best n doha , i had to stay about 20 mins every time to get my sandwich. well the same chef is still in doha and he is working with upstairs / downstaires rest, in al sadd facing tarek sweets , still the taste of the shawarma is coool..

for me the best shawarma are at Marmara Istambul

THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THE AL FANAR SHWARMA IS THE BEST IN DOHA. I would like to see more and more people telling us the same.

BTW, their Fatayer expecially Labna is to die for. 

Turkey Central is the worst Shawarma...Turkish dont know how to do a Shawrma. Their Sheesh Taoul Roll is the best...in the region

I am xorry guys to all the people who love the food in Turkish Central in Al Nasr, i hate to say this but, i hope the food is not affected by the guys who work there...specially now at the summer heat of the sun...

   The poor workers are staying where i passby everytime in al Nasr area, they stay two blocks away from the restaurant, and i saw many of them many times, walking from their accommodation going to their work at the restaurant, immagine, from there walking under the heat of the sun, aside from, just walking, wiping their perspiration with their hands and sometime on the shirt, one have blown it's nose on the street and just wipe the hand on the clothes eww! I hate to say this but true,,

AL SULTAN in NASR street it is the best so far

I dont think I've had a best shawarma here... its always too much salt, spice or bread. But the average one would be Marmara istanbul or Kookh.

i cant find yet  chicken shawarma which is better than that prepared in Sultan Restaurant in Al Nasser but if only about shawarma bread, i'd say the best is that in Al Meera Supermarket Mansoura.

TAKE AWAY is the only 'HACCP' certified Shawarma joint in town.They make excellent stuff and service also is very good.

I don't eat beef or lamb, so I can only comment on the chicken shawarma. And, unlike several others, I've never had a BAD shawarma in Doha! (Maybe if I were pickier about food, I wouldn't have to hit the gym so hard!!)

My favorite is Diwaniyat Al Bukhari, in City Center mall. Delicious, and also available during the day.  I like to be able to have it for lunch, and the kids like it for an after-school snack if I drag them along for errands after school. Most of the other shops only offer shawarma in the evening.

I also like Marmara and Turkey Central.

I always buy from Marmara Istanbul in Al Sadd or Farij Nasr. Good enough for me. :)

There used to be a place called Fairuz, loved their shawarmas although I think they closed several years ago.

The shawarma's here are nothing like the once I use to have while in Abu Dhabi, ... Shater ABBAS, Shater Hasan .. in abu dhabi is so good...  Here I would say Turkish Central is good.. still looking out for something that is pleasing to my taste buds...    They have lots of food outlets here in qatar .. but not a single place that is mouth watering or you feel like carving to eat ...

Ali Baba restaurant near almansoura!  i had tried the shawarma there and it's the best so far that i have tried... i compared it with Alfanar near the airport, and also in almost everywhere... so far their's is the best...

in Philippines, shawarma was a BIG HIT!  Everyone back in my college loved shawarma and it was available in our school canteen.  LOL!  i wonder why.  the best in the whole world!!!  LOL!

well having moved from UAE, i am yet to find the best showarmas..... in best showrmas i have eaten are of Maroosh, or Labnese Bakers as number 2.

They are in Abu dhabi, if you visit , u got to try Maroosh, ask for Mexican chicken if you like little spicy or normal if not, i look forward to results adn will try out.

A small hole in the wall place named "Flowers" on the right side of the road between TV roundabout and Burgerking roundabout has my vote. And the guys are friendly and nice there. Just pull up in your car and they will come to the window to take your order.

One is in Al matar Al Qadeem (old airport road)...HABEEB Turkish Restaurant...

The other one is MARMARA in al nassr...

I like Petra as well as Turkey Central. Al Wakrah has also one nice Turkish restaurant but I did not try their sharwama yet (only shish tawouk but that is great).

the best is from "TAKE AWAY" on the airport Road. they have a little salad and fries in it too.  yummmy. they also have neat felafels and chicken sandwiches.  and not to forget the fruit juices.  the restaurant is also extremely clean and hygienic. good place to  order out esp if going on a short drive. not much place to sit and eat.

By the way, Al Jabri sweets near Sana round about serves good shawarma's too !!

There is Shawarma stands in every street in town. its amazing we have about 1 million Syrians and Libanese in Venezuela.

Before we used to have Hot Dog stands as America culture was everywhere. now the hot dogs stands have to fight so hard to sell their stuff as the Shawarmas take the whole town.

Same in Paris and Rome. U can find shawarma, kebab, falafel in all corners.
