Just called some agencies today and when i asked for indian maids, they said no more indian maids allowed to come to qatar.

Am not sure if this is true but thats what they told me.

Thanks Faith!!!

If you really find it hard to get an Indian maid, do consider an Indonesian. They are really good and I have good experiences in my 13 years in Malaysia.

My present maid has been with us for 2 years now and she has agreed to come along with us when we move to Doha  which is in Aug.

How long does it take to process the Indonesian maid visa and any idea on the costs?

It's really hard/impossible to get an Indian housemaid come over from India as the Indian govt. has banned sending them to Qatar for various human rights issues.

We have tried a lot actually but all agencies here have told us that nothing can be done as the Indian govt has strictly enforced this ban....

I guess it mite be easier for you to hire an Indian housemaid locally....but then again it's really hard to find a good one....

Good luck on your search......

Would like to get my Indonesian maid working for me in Malaysia at present. Is there any ban against Indian passport holders employing Indonesian maid's? I have been very happy with all my Indonesian maids. Would just like to respond to the original poster.

I feel indonesian maids are far better than Indian maids - they are def more hard working, dependable, good at cooking . Ofcourse you have to be good to them and treat them with the respect they deserve. Having said that, my maid cooks Indian, italian, Malaysian , mexican - all kinds of cuisine - have taught her and now she handles dinners on her own.So, I def feel Indonesian maids are far better than their Indian counterparts.

So, folks at QL please let me know the procedure for getting my existing Indonesian maid to Doha. She is a very important member of my family!
