QATAR RIYAL OR QATARI RIYAL
Hi QL's,
I had a discussion with my Boss the other day until now regarding QATAR RIYAL and QATARI RIYAL. I am insisting that it should be QATAR RIYAL, because if you say QATARI you are referring to a person. We are talking about money matter. But still, he keeps on insisting the word QATARI RIYAL. Can somebody advise me regarding this matter?
Thank you so much,
Lady Di
i think it is Qatari Riyals with s... lol..
it should be Qatari Riyals as generally used by most people. And I do not heard the Qatar Riyal yet/
"Knowledge is best used when shared."
Call it Qatar Riyal or Qatari Riyal, we know what the person here is referring to.....big deal! :P :P Is this something to debate about?
as per an arabic speaking officemate (not certain of his nationality)
but I could really care less. As long as I've got some in my wallet, I'm happy.
It is Qatari Riyals as stipulated by Diwan Amiri
He..he...Thanks Owen but some comments make me confused, as the other say Qatar Riyal but most are Qatari Riyal. Some of them tell me ,here in Qatar they use both word.
Lady Di...why confuse and knock your head on the wall?...lol, if you gonna write it down...just write QR... if you will say it.. as mentioned and explained here, it has to be QATARI RIYAL..now go, your manager is right therefore you have to bang your head on the wall..

Guys once again thank you so much to all fo you!!!!!
Currency..
When one talks about currency he talks about a country. So if one says Qatri
Riyal he doesnt mean the citizen but the country....just like American Dollar,
which is different from Australian Dollar, Japanese Yen, Indian Rupees, Sri-lankan Rupees....etc.
Thus linking the currency to the country is important, as similar sounding
currency have different exchange rates.
A Filipino will mention his currency as just Peso but if a person is dealing with
Pesos of different countries then he might call it Phillipine Peso, Chilean Peso, Argeantine Peso, Mexican Peso....etc.
RP .... I really starting to like the Panamanian Colon ......the Currency....and not the "back side colon"....ROFL
Diamond by name, diamond by nature lol :)

Wonder what you mean by "And what do ya call a person from Singapore.....Bridge !!
Dont get what you mean by Bridge !!! pardon my poor English - appreciate what it means
Basic English Grammar - Lady Di, are you a native English speaker? I am not, but yet I know the difference between using Qatari as a noun and as an adjective.
Example 1 (n) - Look, there goes a Qatari in a white Landcruiser :-)
Example 2 (adj) - I have some Qatari Riyals in my pocket.
Ok, English is not my strong-point, so I won't mind if someone says I'm talking rubbish provided you tell me what's right.
Well it's not our money .. it's a Qatari's money so it's should be Qatari Riyal
[img_assist|nid=53652|title=|desc=|link=none|align=center|width=|height=0]
IF YOU SAY IN ARABIC QATARI RIYAL IN ENGLISH QATAR RIYAL U CAN USE BOTH.
for me your right better they called them qatar rial because qatari means person who live in qatar.
I'm using Qatari Riyal, not Qatar Riyal on invoices.
***** I hope life isn't a big joke, because I don't get it. ******
its qatari rayal not qatar rayal if u also want to unlock ur iphone call 5125244
it's Qatari Riyal :)
"How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, tolerant of the weak. Someday you will have been all of these."
I checked Marhaba, it refers to as Qatari Riyal.
Good one actually... Singapore and Malaysia is just next to each other. People from Singapore are Singaporean whereas Malaysia are Malaysian. We refer Singapore money as Singapore Dollar whereas Malaysia money as Malaysian Ringgit.
Both terms refers to the same currency. I don't think either is wrong. I think both you and your boss are correct. Now go and have a happier life!
'Qatari Riyal' is internationally recognised as a currency for trading.

There is two pesos in the world. The Philippines peso and the Mexican peso, I was wondering which one is heavier. The Panamanian Colon is equal as the American green back. they use the U.S. dollar as their national currency, but their local Colon currency is worth nothing outside their borders.Lately they adopted the chinese cantonese as their third national language. My Confession Booth is close due to the road renovation
Sorry to break it to you Lady Di, but I think we've concluded your manager was right. Start knocking your head!
