you're right though tallg, this has just been a recent change that I've heard of. Perhaps if someone could contact the ministry to confirm this it would help others out alot :)

Interesting. Everything I've ever read and heard says that non-Qataris can only purchase property on reclaimed land. And they purchase it on a 99-year lease, as you would a flat in the UK. However, re-reading what jackmohan wrote I confess I've never heard the bit about needing a Qatari partner. I don't think that's right.

Land just need to be imharir (I don't know what the translation is, but the closest is 'freed') and to do that a Qatari just needs to apply for that.

I could be wrong though.

@jack ad tallg,

You do not need to get a Qatari partner.

The land does transfer back to the owner after 99 years BUT the lease can be perpetually renewed.

You do not get booted for 'offending the country's morals'. You get booted for breaking the law.

Advert sounds like a fraud to me, for the reasons jackmohan listed.

Get your facts right:

1. Expats cannot own appartments anywhere in Qatar.

2. Expats can only temporarly own or call it leasehold (for 99yr) appartment only if they have a Qatari Partner who will get the property transfered in his name after 99yrs. He could also get full ownership of it if you get booted out of the country, anytime before 99yrs, for "offending the country's morals".

3. Expats can only book such appartments in "Landfilled" areas like Lusail, Pearl etc. ie areas that are most likely to be eroded by the Sea.

So the Advt could be a fraud unless the appartment is in Pearl or Lusail.

Luckly i talked to a guy Khalid at 5564813 there are 3 type of appartments of different sizes all 3 Bedroom @ 1.25 million 1.35 million and 1.45 million, and the 1.25 mil is all gone, but you will get only residency visa for life not working visa so you should have bank full of money to live in case you dont have a Job....
