Thanks to everyone! Our Donation Mission!

Great job everyone. Thanks to all those who participated, donated and to everyone's well wishes for those in need.

They really were greatfull. They were all standing around in silence, perhaps in a bit of shock as to what was going on.

Remember this small thing, giving someone a small smile and a little wave can make them go a whole day with a good feeling in their heart.

It was great to see the QL and ILQ members together, interacting and caring. (Of course there were much more QL members)

THanks to Speed and Scarlett for organizing carefully.

Thanks to all those who came and were troopers despite the little adventure we had.

It was also great to put some faces to the people behind the aliases.

On behalf of the ILQ group I really want to say I'm proud of you all.

@speed absolutely :)I've got the Spanish woman's society to help out and they'll be putting alot of the stuff (including mattresses) in my warehouse. Let me know when you  want to do the second donation run and I'll arrange the rest of the things to be there to be dropped off :) ___________________________ Click here for LOADS of Qatar info I♥Q  <-- (Expat and Local Info)

Aisha - I believe SPEED is planning one more collection for Saturday. You could PM him or wait for the post. If that timing doesn't work out for you, I can meet you sometime. As for the money - Anything you choose will be appreciate and used. If you want my opinion, I would say underwear and socks or toiletry items. But really, anything is useful.

I received a call from my daughter just now, we will get about 100 caps from a donor on saturday. I am sure that will be good with the sun getting stronger. I will have that stuff plus the stuff I have in my car & money I can still spend. Who is the contact so I can give this all. Also what should I use the money for??? Any suggestions?

It was an urge within to associate myself to this cause.

Needless to say there were many QL'rs who had silently come to the point dropped off their contribution and many others who sent in their contributions through their staffs and friend. There were also the unseen hands of the Non QL'rs who have made it a point to raise up to the occasin and do their might.

I salute one and all for rising upto the occassion and doing their part.

Indeed we shall ever be ready for such calamities and ensure that QL is always in the forefront to share their concern with everyone and ensure that they are not left alone.

Thnks to all once again.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL! and lets pledge to continue our support at all given times.

Yes I was humbled too.  They are so far from home and so vunerable.

I am glad the Gulf Times published.... the companies should know people care and will see how they treat their staff.

I hope to be involved in something similar again soon... Whoami... if you need help let me know.

Whoami - It was nice finally getting to meet you!  A big thank you to you as well for organizing ILQ donations.

I also have something I want to share with everyone who was there last night.  As my husband and I were getting ready to leave the area where we dropped off the donations, a group of young men approached the car and knocked on the window.  The one who spoke said he was speaking for the group as he spoke the best English.  He asked to shake my husbands hand and wished just to say thank you on behalf of himself and his friends.  It was, to say the least, a humbling experience.  While he was truly impacted by the generosity of the group, I think in that moment my husband and I were impacted even more so by this man's gentle spirt and sincerity.

I think the pictures they were asking for were the group photos. Means just a group of us shaking hands to each other (forum members).

Please dont post any pictures its not good ....

let not the right hand know what the left hand is doing when doing charity work

The shy smile on the workers face when they helped us to unload the stuff is more then enough for us

Please note that there are regular donations that occur around once a month to labourers.

We distribute calling cards, so they can call back their families, coolers, and other small snacks.

You were great Whoami! A Real Gentleman.

Speed and Scarlett thanks so much.

The look on the faces of the workmen was quite heart breaking... they were incredulous that some people cared.

They just seemed astonished when bags and bags of goods were piling up. They were polite and just looking with shy half smiles.

It was very humbling for me.

I took one photo but that's about it, hopefully there'll be others with some group pics :)

Sorry, I did make it to the Merc showroom, but you were gone already. I have lots of stuff in my car and will probably collect some more tomorrow. Also I still have some money to spend. What is needed most?
