I need some advice...I will be moving to Qatar to work for a company that does contract work for the Military. Can someone shed some light on the safety here. The state department has issued some warnings about the possiblility of terrorists against Westerners.

Hi, It is safe here- but one should not forget where we are and there is a potential of bad things happening, people saying otherwise don't know what they are talking about.

But on a Day to day basis it is safer than any town in the US and Europe.

hmm i feel comfortable here that i am not ready to go back home as yet......take it with a pinch of salt , for us we take it as an adventure like we did when we lived in the cornfields in ILL when we were there once upon a time , or like when we lived in Myanmar and thailand. life is filled with adventures either you like it or you dont.......is even better than reading abt it fr a book so to speak.......(ok ok i ;ve said too much already)welcome to doha for whenever ya get here.......

life's too short so make the most of it, you only live but once.......

That is pretty much just a standard warning for Americans traveling to the Middle East. It is just a reminder to keep your eyes out and watch out for your safety. It's no secret that Americans/Westerners are targets for certain terrorist organizations. So it is more of a warning to be careful in your travels.

Have a great time in Doha.
