The Qatar Bug

I am down with viral from the past two months. As soon as I recoup it surfaces again. And trust me I am not the only one. A lot of people I know are facing the same thing. It starts with a neck pain or a pain in the ear or some eye infection and back to taking antibotics. Never has this happened to me before. A hot soup would cure me of viral but they say it is the 'Qatar bug' !!!

And the smell as well, lol. Propolis has a weird smell : )

I wonder if the syrup would have all the goodness of propolis. Normally I buy Brazilian propolis tincture and drink it with water when I'm starting to fall sick. It works wonders, but I have no idea where to buy it here.

I have heard that honey from your locale works, so I guess local pollen may have the same effect.

Rest and sleep - not possible with a demanding child and husband with opposite work timings. Lot of disturbance. But I will take care of my iron deficiency - that could be the reason for low immunity - not could be but I am sure it is.

I have been taken iron tablets for over 8 months. I am much more robust and fighting fit now both mentally and physically.

Increasing iron level takes a long time. I am no longer majorly anemic but still have to keep taking them.

Also a great thing: rest and sleep...pure and simple

Pollen comes from plants and flowers and the bee collects it the pollen and it becomes sticky.

This sticky substance is propolis. so it originates from pollen and has bee extras.

Ahh ! My iron count is low. May be that's the reason.

A lot of pharmacies here sell propolis lozenges for throat infections. A lot of supermarkets sell the honey with royal jelly.

As a lady make sure your iron and vitamin B levels are not below average.

Thanks Oryx. Propolis is same as bee pollen ?

Royal Jelly

buy honey fortified with Royal Jelly...its much better than royal jelly capsule form as it preseves its properities better suspended in honey...

royal jelly is what Queen bee eats.

another good thing is propolis which is what the bee collects and can act as an antibiotic without you building up immunity. it is also anti-viral...so could help you alot.

I know a lot about this...my ex was an apiculturilist!

I will give it a try. I am really desperate to get rid of this recurring throat infection.

Yes Alexa. You are right about antibiotics. But the doctors here say it is flu with infection hence antibiotics. How do one improve their immunity ? I am getting frustated and really feeling low.
