You’ve passed the assessment centre impressed at interview and then received the incredible news that you have been offered the job. Good news!

Now its your first day ..... what are the things you should be constantly considering ........ what are the best ways to impress your bosses and colleagues whilst simultaneously not coming across as a ‘goody-goody.’?

Don't ever try to impress on your first day, that is a major mistake and your Collegues would start disliking you before you the end of the day.

Be humble, get to know the Company, the department and from there- start to make your way by doing the job you were hired to do.

I have seen a few guy's desperate to impress and most of them have failed in the end, because they forgot their collegues and how to cooperate.

Some rules to make your work easier:

1. Call him "boss": As dumb as it looks like, it will impress him and you'll score your first points with him immediately.

2. Call him on the phone: You don't need a reason to call him; it's enough to ask how he is doing. You shouldn't waste hours talking and gossiping. Keep it to the basics (how is he, how kids are fine etc...)

3. Don't criticize your office-mate in front of your boss: Be aware that he'll always take his side, no matter if he is right or not.

4. Subordinates: As much as his views irritate you, try to maintain fairly and normally relationship.

If all else fails and you have a problem with your boss, don't argue with him but address your HR boss to take care of it.

A little patience and it should work out.

Just be very aware of what is being said, done. Try and get a feel for what lies ahead for you.
