Too much dust offshore, wondering about town!

This is the weather forecast from offshore:

Hi QLers,

It's too dusty here, I can't believe that much of dust on about 80KM away from the shore, if this is the case here, may God be with you guys in Doha, it must have been worse over there.

All the helicopter trips were cancelled for today due to bad visibility, I hope it will be ok tomorrow, because I'm waiting some cigarettes on the next Helicopter trip, lol, :))

I hope you all had a safe day, and keep your car's lights on.

My finger cross for you (and my toes too of course !) one day you would be able to turn up in QLSG event. I have made tons of friends through here ... :-) And made 1 or 2 enemies through here too lol.

i watch some matches on TV,thats all.The big Euro fever is not to feel where i am.Just the normal stuff.Especially when the stupid Swiss Kickers playing a nonsense like they did. Also the Austria-Croatia Match was boring. And yet Germany-Poland,its not the big hit.

Its disapointing to be honest.Lets hope for Italy-Holland tomorrow. And then the ultimative WM revenge Italy-France.

SG,

Believe me, I miss rain too much.

How does it feel being in Switzerland in Euro08, did you buy any match's ticket.?

Novi, I have a lot of work, but I'm off since the morning, because of the weather as well, we can not operate cranes with this strong wind, it has operational limits.

Novi, I'm missing many events as well,

To be honest with you, it's not the kind of event that matters to me, it's the kind of people who make it.

I never met any of the QLSGers yet, but I know by now, by communicating through QL, how many good friends I'm gonna have here, since I had a very bad social life in Qatar so far (being busy all the time).

Everyone seems to be nice, understanding and fun, so it doesn't matter if it's a boat trip or coffee shop, it will be great because of the people there.

:D

Samira,

Take it easy gal, we are just kidding with you.

but if you keep hijacking threads, you won't get enough answers, In the middle of another discussions you ask about MBA in Qatar, doesn't make any sense.

we did not answer because we don't know the answer, but there are more than 30,000 other members who might know, so you can go to the upper right menu of this page, and click on add forum topic, and then ask whatever you want by creating a new post, like that you can assure more members will read it, and be sure that everyone is willing to help if they can.

:D

Peace.

Honestly, I wish to sign with another company in Qatar, I like it so much here, although did not have time to enjoy it yet (since 4 years).

But I heard that without NOC, I can't stay in Qatar, right?, and since I don't know who is my sponsor, I think my direct manager will decide, who is not a good friend of mine.

I just wish they change the rules here, to be able to resign, and work for another company without any issues, but if that's not possible, I still have many offers to work for Canadian companies, then I will have to look at them.

But in all cases, I'm sure I will meet you soon in one of the Gatherings, I did not have a chance to be in any of them yet, I always apologize from DaRuDe for not being able to come, but will see you all soon hopefuly.

Novita,

At least he knows 28On/28Off, so he can make plans and appointments, and he can keep his word when makes plans.

But for me it's different, I'm more on a business requirement rotation, so basically, I can't make personal plans for a few hours ahead, and I'm fed up with cancelling social plans, and apologizing for cancelling presonal appointments.

And the activity this year seem to be so high, so I won't have enough time off, which is not gonna work for me, so I will be looking at some other offers with a fixed rotation (same as your brother) in the next few days.

Wish me luck with that, becuase if they didn't give me NOC, I will be heading back to Canada, but I wish to stay in Qatar.

lol. it's fun, and relaxing...relaxing in many ways:

- No Driving

- No cars

- No phone calls as no mobiles allowed, I have three telephone lines, but still I can choose not to pick up, lol.

- Watching the endless sea is reaxing for sure.

- Sunrise & sunset is an extreme beautiful experience.

But in the other hand it's dangerous:

- Toxic/poisonous gases.

- Fire.

- High pressure in the wells and lines.

- Chemicals.

- Tough working conditions/ but high safety standards.

But generally, you never get bored, everyday is a new day, not similar to any other day, full of a new challenges, but I still miss my social life :)).

Novita, would you like to work offshore?, here I gave you the advantages and disadvantages :P, fair enough?

This is a different story, I'm offshore now because one of my clients is having some troubles in the operation, and I'm commited to stay until everything is done, and if everything goes as planned, I should be done within a week (hopefuly) :P

But in the normal cases I stay 1-2 weeks maximum offshore.

(Cleaning the house!!!!)

I can't imagine how my house looks like now... ;P, if it has been dusty since a few days then a big cleaning company should take care of it when I come back, I still don't know how the dust enters the house, when everything is completely locked :),

Novita,

It's not an island, it's just in the middle of the gulf, some oilfield platforms, I can only describe my location by longitude & Latitude :))

But it's really strange today, considering we are in June, and rough sea, strong wind and more over that DUST.
