New Pledge of Allegiance (TOTALLY AWESOME) !
WRITTEN BY A 15 yrs old SCHOOL KID IN ARIZONA : How true?
New Pledge of Allegiance (TOTALLY AWESOME) !
Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's prayer are not allowed in most public schools anymore because the word "God" is mentioned....
A kid in Arizona wrote the following NEW School prayer :
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong, We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen
What's ridiculous about not reciting the Lord's Prayer or Ten Commandments or reading the Bible in school? There are many students of different faiths, not just Christians.
That's why some schools offer moments of silence.. so each student can pray, contemplate, reflect, meditate, or whatever, in his or her own way.
When my kids were in school in the US, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited each day.
Dyed hair, piercings, etc... yes and no. Dress codes can vary from district to district. Some have stricter dress codes, where visible piercings, long hair, etc., aren't allowed.
Witchcraft? Vampires? Totem poles? Uh...doubtful that these are areas of "study" in any curriculum, lol, but they could possibly appear in literature. Or in history class.... So????
In England the lines are different Brit. In America we have a powerful line in our constitution that prohibits this in public schools as has been interpeted by the Supreme Court.
Some public schools have 'reflective moments of silence or thought'. But it is up to the individual to partake in and is not organized for group participation.
It is quite possible to have this in America but the school must withdraw themselves from almost all governmental funding.

We used to have joint assembly and prayer st the school I went to.. there were all faiths and denominations there.
To be honest, it brought us together as a unit.. Is there any real harm in this approach ?
"Should I be shot; My soul please take!"
Love that line... Having been a victim of gunman scares myself!
If they want to recite organized prayers in school they should either go to a private school where it is allowed as they do not have governmental funding or go to school in their church with their pastor or priest....
why do they need to 'pray' (really it is supplicating) in an organized manner anyway? If they are at school and finish their lunch they can sit there at the lunch table and 'pray' (supplicate)...
