Where to live in Qatar as an expat?
By wolverineX •
I am about to move from Dubai to Doha for a period of time. Does anyone know where the nice areas are were one should search for furnished flats?
I lived in the Marina area in Dubai and liked the Jumeirah area as well. Is there something similar in Doha?
You clearly havent heard of Homes 2 Rent - Qatars premiere Housing Agent - British Managed and who offer nothing but the best in Gracious living. With Bijoux rsidences nestling in area's of understated beauty why not give Our Shaz, Mags or Babe bridget a call in 418437 - cummon you know u want to! Come and join us Happy Residents and experience gracious living as it really should be. I know, I live in one - West Bay yah - its simply THE place to live in Qatar. Hic! Back to the Gin. Mention my name - Jim - for the best in personal attention and a good service!!!!! Yippeee - its homes2 Rent for me!
If you will have access to a car or a ride and have no problem being a bit away from the West Bay (which is an upscale area with high rental rates) you could try to find something furnished on Al Sadd area which is only a maximum of 10 - 15 min away from the wesbay area and so on.
Look at the classified adds here in Qatar living.. you will find lots of things and a whole wide range that fall under all categories of rentals from 3000 QR to 20000QR and more.
Good Luck!!
thanks for the reply and the tips moonfleet.
The Pearl looks nice but reminds me of the Palm in Dubai, which I have a somewhat ambivalent view on:-(
I looked at the west bay area and it looks nice, but couldnt find any rentals. Will look further.
Are there any other similar areas to the west bay?
You sound like a West Bay kind a guy, if money is NO object try West Bay Lagoon or even The Pearl. We went for unfurnished in the end because I did not like what was provided. Nearly new furniture is very reasonable and you get to choose the style. Make sure they provide Aircon and white goods though.
Good Luck and Welcome
