Giving Birth In Doha
Hello, I am about to move to Doha, and want to know about giving birth there. I am pregnant now, and am curiousas to how things happen for the mother to be. DO they put you to sleep? Do they have pain medication etc.. Any help will be greatly appreciated, as I need to make a choice if I want to come before or after the birth. I am 7months now.
8th child ????????
CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!
still having nicky picky worries questioning the excellent facitilies in Middle East Hospitals
according to my husband working in qatar airways you cannot travel after 6 months of your pregnancy...
but if you can go here with your situation now... i recommend (govT) hamad hospital.. it will cost you 400qr only.. but the disadvantage your husband cannot go with you in the delivery room.. god bless and congrats
The equipments are top class & the staff good. But ...but you cannot "request" the doctor to give you Cesarian no matter how much the pain.
If you want a Cesarian your doctor have to specifically mention in the Pre-Delivery Checkup report.
(The doctor who does the your periodic checkup to assess your pregnancy has to mention in the report for a Cesarian.)
HMC has an option of private(paid) and normal(room). In the normal room there are 2 beds in one room with sharing toilet. (I guess it was designed for one person but due to the heavy schedule they seem to have put 2 beds in one room.)
The normal room is a little inconvenient in the sense the locals have a lot of relatives (females) in the room (usually more than 4) and they sit there sipping coffee and chatting full day. These relatives also use the same toilet ment for the patient/s.
..And dont forget to bring a white shirt the HMC (maternity uniforms) does not have buttons...lol
Well here Hamad Hospital (Women Emergency ) is a best place. its depend on u whether you want sleeping medicine or pain free medicine accordingly they will give treatment to u. but they will not allow male (husband) inside the delivery room.
i would suggest al ahli hospital. your husband can enter in the delivery room. you won't feel pain during your labor, because there is EPIDURAL.
There are a few private hospitles here which allow the father to be present , but is quite expensive... Hamad woments hospitle [govt] only allows a female to be present in the labour room until you almost deliver. I had mine 2 years ago n my friend had her's almost a month ago we had no problems, staff are very helpful if you ask them...
But do check if you allowed to travel in your 7th month as I was told a few days ago that QR doesn't allow after 6m [ this is what I heard so please verify before ]
i would say try the women's hospital too, i had my 3rd baby there not long ago, and i thought it was fantastic. your husband wont be able to attend, but after 8 kids im sure that wont be a huge problem for you! good luck .
Actully this isnt a bad place to giv birth
the hamad hospital(womans emergency) is the place which you ill find comfortable with your needs.
and they make it pain - free.
congrats
congrats about the baby but i strongly recommed a private room which you will have to request ahead of time i know loads of people who have had babys here and i havent heard anything negative i wouldnt worry and i wouldnt listen to stories most are not true trust me if they were everyone in doha would have an oil field in the backyards and would be travelling by camel.
Sh*t may happen any where, many of us born in the middle east and hey we are a live :P
No, this will actually be my 8th child.. I am American, and have heard many stories about birthing in the middle east..
Is it your first baby?
They do have spinal here, which means no pain (almost) but occaisional person gets terrible headache as side effect.
