The break with the PAST

You have surely heard the nice saying that's been around for few years: "Today is the first day of the rest of your life."

But now I'd like to coin a companion saying: "Today is the last day of your Past."

Those two messages dont mean the same thing. The first advises us to get our life going the way we want it to go. The second means: get rid of old failures, taboos, inhibitions that kept us from being what we can be.

As we grow,we pick up warnings like: "thats a no,no." "dont you dare do that!" "know your place." We learn what people around us consider to be "customary" or "proper"or "shamë." We also hear why somethings is "impossible" to do.

If we are brainwashed by all this and go out as an adult into a very competitive world, we are shorn of our initiatives. We are handcuffed by all these warnings which we have dragged up from history.

What we need are the unlimited vision and the natural imagination which we had as a children.

Let today be the BEST day of your life.....

keeping our mind and heart open to things which may help us to live a better life is the key to expect everyday surprises.

The past shall not be forgotten though, for it molded us into who we have become. And whatever we are doing at this moment is our past in the future. So learn form the past and take responsibilities for your actions so that you will have no regrets... :)

well, if you allow those "long ago warnings" instilled in you as a child to STAY in yer system... it'd really be a difficult existence much more LIVING. . .

there comes a time when we OUTGROW all of the things that we had and experienced as children.... there's school, peers, the environment, work and the people we meet to CHANGE that...

THERE'S NO FUTURE IN THE PAST....

you are coming from but that is(IMO) rubbish. We all need to know boundaries and discipline and what is a 'no-no' or out of bounds or wrong. Knowing our place is a good thing, we all love children coming down at dinner parties to be introduced but do we still want the spoilt brat down at 12 midnight when we want to let go and relax...No we don't!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is why the world has gone tits up, we have all gone soft on discipline. Our childrens happiness is not down to us.

My natural vison and imagination as a child was I wanted to give my Ma and Pa death and hell as they kept having kids? Totally normal but shoulkd it be indulged? No way.

We create a loving, caring and disciplined life for them, the rest is up to them.

vision and natural imagination, however,do you really realistically think youd get past that?with the majority and with peer pressure for you to conform and believe?
