Big Day for India & Government: Stay or Fall

The UPA government faces a vote of confidence today.

Unlike in the past, MPs are being traded openly, so much so that even Bookies are putting money on our honourable Members of Parliament. While the brazen and shameless act has shocked all, what appears to have been lost in the bargain is the real reason behind the need for this confidence vote - Manmohan Singh's decision to go ahead with the civil nuclear deal. We are a democracy and each one has a right to express his or her opinion on anything of national importance. That is the strength of our democracy. Regretfully, all this seems to have been obliterated in the shenanigans of the past few days. The need for the nuclear deal has been discussed in detail over the past few days, and none can dispute that it is critical for a nation whose energy needs are growing. But then there are clauses in the deal that make some upset, again with some merit. Once again there can be arguments whether the ruling party went about it in a proper manner or not. Given the situation, do you think the UPA government should survive or not?

Source: Times of India Debate...

What do you think,

Will the Indian Government stay or Fall?

Will we continue with the UPA Government or will India Have a NEW GOVERNMENT before the End of the DAY Today!!!

Indeed, a Big Day for India!!!

Lets see what happens...

Very poor logic.....just like our politicians....;-)

1. Presently India is starving for Urenium.

2. Having plenty of Thorium but it may take 15 yrs for scientiest to develop Thorium based power plant

3. Establishing Urenium Plant and Oil Refinery is totally different thing.

4. Putting ban on production of Gunpowder, TNT & C$ is practically not possible.

5. You are underestimating distruction capacity of N-wapons. (it can not be compared with Gun powder etc)

I believe the Govt will make it...find the min no of Donkeys to ride through ...I guess some 6 more are needed

What I dont understand is -

If we have Uranium, we should have the right to enrich it (whether its for peaceful use or for war should be nobody's business). Why should we buy it from France or some other country?

Its just like saying if you have Oil you cannot have refinery!!!

If they are worried about terrorist using these enriched uranum then they should 1st begin with stopping production of gunpower, TNT & C4 as these are used primarily by Terrorist.

Anyways, it was good to see parliamentarians giving their speeches and putting their opinion.

Democracy brings some advantages and some disadvantages. US has also faced such problems and in recent past we have seen Obama-Mrs. Clinton fighting for President ship though they are from the same party.

It is true that Indian Democracy requires lots of reforms but still having faith in democratic set-up.

Watch it closely as we are going to witness a historic turning moment of our country.

By the way I am in favour of N-Deal and wish for Manmohan Singh.

At the end of all the debating, it's the numbers that will decide whether the government will stay or not. As per the present status, it seems the government will scrape through. They need 272 to stay.

As per the morning news..it was 266 against and 266 for and 9 undecided… Some opposition MP’s may abstain from voting.

Whoever rules …its not gonna be any better….
