Is there after school care in Doha schools or the international schools?

I will be looking for an international school or some sort of school when I arrive in Doha next week. I am wondering if the schools over there have the same system in Australia where you can book your child in for before or after school care until you finish work?
If not, what to people do who work long hours?

Hi,

Thanks for your answers....My child is 8. Well, either I get a really well paid job (anyone know of one going??? lol) or ............well, there doesn't seem to be many options, does there? hehe

What about the home schools? Does anyone have any contacts for them?

Cheers

Hahahahahah here is the expat way: Get a really high position at work, so then you can choose to leave work when you please, spend 3 hours in traffic getting to your kid's school... Then you get tired of doing that so most expat then buy their wifes a car (preferably a Mistsubishi Galant to enter the very typical expat pattern)

After a few months, your wife will get a burnout of the endless traffic, and crazy driving so either she will hire the school buses (which might not reach your place, and might not be in the school you choose depending on how old your children are as well)

That will get your children in a really bad mood as well because they will spend a lot more time on the roads, then they would normally with mom, so if the are in a rebellion age they will complain a lot.

That sums up the first year of school in Doha.

The second year of school, you begin to enjoy the local culture of laziness like every other expat, and you will most probably consider a driver to drive the kids around town... Haaaa this expat life....

DMIS is an Indian school which offers creche facilities up to 3:45 pm up to the Third Grade. After that school hours are up to 3:45 pm. The afternoon is spent on extra-curricular activities. The children then get dropped by the school bus should you opt for the bus service.
