Interracial marriage

So which is better - marrying someone from your country or someone from other nationalities?

dont settle for a second wife. What is the use of having a husband if you cant have him everyday. One day in your house ,the next day to another house. What about on fridays ,whose gonna be with him.And here comes the parents who doesnt want you to be a part of their family. What a miserable life.Thank God I am out that situation anymore and Happily married now.

Samaya I do not regret not one single time my choice. Just having a bad patch at the moment, but nothing to do her being from the different culture. In fact we both come from western Europe but different countries, so the culture is the same I guess...

Anyway Love is blind and makes you do the things you never imagine. It is good to think with the heart but think with the mind also if you ever get a chance..Both have to work together otherwise can cause chaios..

Best of Luck

Im glad you followed your heart, now i have to try and educate my Boyfriend to do the same... You only live once, would u prefer to keep your parents happy or yourself, bear in mind that ur parents have already almost lived... My situation is really hard though, its not just about me loving this guy to death, its about the way he is also already married... Has a 1 year old kid, made me do things u cant even begin to imagine... but yet i still want him... strange huh, funny how the heart works... but anyways im glad u followed ur heart and r with the woman thats in your heart :)

Yes been there done it. I was in a similar situation as you Smaya. But being a bloke I think I could decide. After the disaster of the first marriage I dated and ended up marrying a girl from a completly different culture. Yes my Dad was a bit like your Qatari Boy friends dad, but after being screwed by parents in the first time around I did not care and just went with the flow and against the norms, every body was unhappy at first but afterward they came around to accept my choice was about me and not them. So your parents are a good example. I strongly believe that if one can not make the sacrafice then he is or she is not worth it.

The probelem in a inter racial is how strong you are attached to your own culture, If you are open and broad mined you can accept the other fully otherwise it will be a compromise and will not work and you will loose the love and respect for each other. First respect and then love in this kind of situation..

Good Luck for the future...

Just force ur husband to eat it, treat him like a child... You get this or u go 2 bed on a empty stomach :P

Sure thing!

But you said the magic words... "You are Young"! You have your whole life ahead of you! It will be hard, but what is life isn't... and you will find another love soon! My very good friend was with a Qatari for 5 years, and eventually he married his cousin and wanted to continue the relationship with her... and now... thank God... she has another great guy and they are happy together.. she thought she would never find that kind of love again, but she did... and now they are on vacation together this year!... LOL

I am a Filipina, but I dont have any problem in our cultural differences with my Arabic husband, could be because I am Muslim by birth? And the difference(if there is any) is very slim, which was easy for me to adapt to it. The only problem I faced to MYSELF is deciding WHAT food to prepare and HOW to prepare for it?

I'm not a good cook,:(( so my bad!

But to answer your question. In my opinion,... which good and which is bad has NOTHING to do with Nationality. Otherwise, there will be zero divorce rate in every nation?

I dont think it matters if the family approve or not... Its your life, you have to spend the rest of your life with this person not ur parents or your partners parents... i really get pissed of when i hear people dont marry their love because of their parents... My mums parents didnt talk to her for 2 years because she married a British man, but then they came to realise how happy my mum was and that he was a great man and now my grandparents are more open minded about the situation... We are living in 2008 now, times and traditions have changed.. Follow your heart.

It's true, your points of view is what this is all about! Tatess, you are also correct, as you experienced it! Unfortunately i too experienced it, and my husband has another wife and will be divorcing me for her as she has the kids and is turing them against him, and as someone mentioned earlier, family ties in the Arab region can not be competed against. It's hard for a man to marry and be happy with a non arab wife if the family does not approve!! But to all their own... I've seen so many of them survive, suffer, and happily ever after... wish the best to everyone! :)

i didn't say all, i SAID "sometimes" And am not generalising it just talking from my own experience and yes ,I am fuly aware of the successful interracial marriages and one of them are your parents ang you were lucky to have this family .Hope we dont argue on that ,ok.

I think most inter-racial marriages would last longer than same race marriage. most of it depends on both partners. Arab men who marries non arab women, most of them are very lucky, as non arab women put more of an effort into the relationship and shower their men with love and attention, compared to arab women who don't care as they have the families here!

Islam considers the husband head-of-the-family and therefore

requires that a Muslima cannot marry a non-Muslim because she will be under the authority of a non-muslim husband. He may prevent her from carrying out her religious obligations by either pressuring her or physically abusing her. But it is not the sole reason for imposing the restriction. The situation is considered very damaging for the woman to practise Islam afterwards and even worse for the kids in such marriages.

There are NO conditions mentioned under which a Muslim woman IS allowed to get married or remain married to a non-Muslim husband after she has accepted Islam.

Therefore, even if she has freedom to practise Islam after marriage, she is NOT allowed to enter into an inter-faith marriage.

..... And give not (your daughters) in marriage to

Al-Mushrikun** till they believe in Allah alone and verily a believing slave is better than a (free) Mushrik, even though he pleases you....[2:221] ** Al-Mushrikun=>Pagans, idolators, polytheist and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah and in His messanger Prophet Muhammad SAW) - [[6]]
