Converting from Family visit to Family Residence Visa

Hi friends,

I actually wanted to bring my wife here asap under RP but I don't have the complete documents(I don't have a Tenancy contract, electricity bill, and my bank statement is good for 2 months only as I am new here in DOha.) Other docs(Salary, Marriage, Educational certificates etc. are all OK).An agency told me, what I have should be OK(do you think so?) but I didn't take the risk for 1K QR service fee. So I simply applied for family visit visa yesterday personally. Hopefully my wife will be here soon. Now, what's the procedure, necessary docs, & cost to convert the visit visa to RP? Should I rent a flat to secure tenancy contract & electricity bills, and wait for another 4 months to complete 6mos bank statements? If so, does this mean I can only apply for her RP after satisfying Labor Dept's requirements?

Any response will be highly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Thanks a lot for the info. very helpful indeed for a new-comer in Doha like me. I'll "pay-it forward" ;)

Cheers!

hi there, on of my friend has recently transfered her visa from family visit to residence visa under husband's sponsership..i will expalin how they did it.

1. she came on a family visit visa to qatar. they extended it to 5 more months. before that ext she did her medical.

[Kindly note that they were not having any tenancy agreemnt to apply for family visit visa. her husband just submitted his 3 months bank statement and other details.]

2.by 6th month, they applied for family residence visa along with Noc,and bank statements till date to the immigration.

3. Vis was approved in 3 workign days.they went and collect it from immigration

4.visa ws stamped for 2 months. with that time they ahve to go for medical[again] .

5. once medical is through, have to go for fingerprint.

6.then have to do blood group.

7. while submitting these 3 reports, your visa will be stamped for 1-2 yrs. for one yr fees is QR .500 and for 2 yrs Qr.900

8. Residence perimit will be stamped in the passport and also you will get qatar Id.

so my advise will eb not to got hrough any agencies for all these. you cncan really do it urself. as you said u ahve ur colleges who have already done this, u can get enough advise from them as well.

hope i could give you some general info into the subject.

Thanks man! Appreciated.

I already have NOC from the company. I am a programmer earning 10K minimum. Sad to say, the company PRO doesn't process visa for employees' family. Most of the employees in the company did the processing by themselves. I asked my co-workers' opinion based on their experiences(they are all successful) but mine is totally different because they have all the necessary documents.

Are Tenancy contract & bank statements "a must"? Or it's a case to case basis?

Is there anybody here in QL who's granted an RP for wife despite of docs insufficiency?
