The openning Cerermony disappointed me, I expected muc more from a country like china, with all the varities and civilizations and arts, I thought they will come up with something unusual, the whole ceremony was predectable and classic, Doha Ceremony was much much much more creative

Yeah Brit , i heard the Aussies, been reading it in the Aussie newspapers, oh well we cant be good at everything..If beer drinking was a sport, well no one would have a chance..lol...

They outdid the Aussies.. They've raised the bar. I doubt whether thr Brits could do as well or even afford to put on such a show.

I was laughing my butt off, when the chinese pronounce the word' Oyimpee', they are better off by saying 'bolas!!

The techie stuff from the performers brought me back to days of galactica video game!!

Anyhow it was well choreograph and organize, Too bad, they did not had a slippery stair case in a rainy day with a horse and rider climbing to light the torch (Doha games)!

Instead we had the chinese guy conquering the olympic torch instead of the moon.

this is really a product of hardwork...as i read from the article the planning took seven years...

i was so amazed how the dancers did a simple sketch of the mountains and the sun. then it was colored by the school children. the opening tells a story. and i say there's still more of China which cant be covered in 1 hr presentation.

The Asian games and the opening for this one and will be doing every fricking games opening for the next couple decade....I thought it was pretty good...

It was amazing, costumes, performers, themes! everything is amazing! They have put so much energy, attention and everything you can think off just to make it happen.

Actually the show made me paralyzed in front of TV!!

What kind of celebration can you ask for DK?!

YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE SAYS ITS NOT GOOD!

It was actually SUPERB!! on my own point of view it was the most amazing Olympic opening ever happened!

have you seen it all?

The Crowd, the performers is cracking! Doha Asian games not the good! But Olympic opening in Beijing is actually SUPERB!!

they might be able to do better, but I loved it

specially the drums with light to display the numbers and the fireworks all around the city and the globe.

and the fact that they opened at 08:08:08 on 08/08/08

personally before you can judge it objectively. China inside is very different in the "outside" world perception. As all countries have "plus and minus", China had prepared for this opening very long ago. I think they made a fantastic show. I saw some of the rehearsals by myself.

it's a country with more than 5000 years history a lot of stories behind it.

it's not just a performance. it's a translation of history. "High-tech" persormance is everywhere, and it was perfectly used in it as well.

I kept comparing it to the Asian games opening! it wasnt as good as that, especially with all the hype and all... but the coordination of those performers were just too awesome!
