What is the procedure we should take to leave from the existing company and join in new? we should go back home and come in a new visa? or can we transfer locally without going back home? anyone help me please..
astrogirl, open your eyes, it's already afternoon..
he cannot be still under probationary period.. his post is dated 17/09/2008. Unless he is under probationary period with some different company by now..

Anoel why dont you try to settle your problems from your country here..coz if you are still under probationary period and you will go home..you will surely loose a lot of chance to earn a living. If you resign you will shoulder the cost of repatriation ticket (one way). It will depend on your employer if they will charge you for the expenses of recruiting you from your country.
It's more than homesickness. Lots of personal problems need to be settled back home... Going home this coming holiday not possible. home is so far away. a month's salary is not enough for a round trip ticket.
what did they charge you for terminating the contract? I am more than 2 months but less that 3 months in my company and being struck by homesickness and for just this reason, I want to go home, but I don't know how much would it cost me. they shoudered all expenses of bringing me here.
I found out about the company and it is believed to be one of the top 5 in Qatar. So far they have been very understanding to me and I hope they remain the same even after I join them next month.
I have to take my chances as everyone else who come to work in these countries (GCC). Rest is destiny.
it depends on the company whether they want to give you NOC letter or not.. but again, since you are NOT under anybody sponsorship yet, you do not need NOC letter... just find another job and finalize the RP with them... even without going out of the country.. especially since you are american.. they are very loyal to americans, canadians, and such, trust me...
Unless you work for a very understanding boss, they will never issue you with a NOC to work for anyone else in Doha, they would rather send you home.
BMW888, you can give the months notice, but they will send you home at the end of it. Most labour contacts in Qatar, are not worth the paper they are written on.

What if there is a clause in the contract says if you dont like your job for any reason you can give a month notice and leave. Can an employer stops you then?
if you were recruited from your home country, you couldn't leave your company just like that. And your visa under your current employer/company, they will NOT let you go coz under the QATAR Labor Law, you have to stay with your company for a minimum period of 1 year (12 months). And if they won't give you a release or NOC, you have to go, dear.
If you're locally hired, same procedure applies...
Do I need to give a good reason to not to continue my work? I've been working for 15 days already for my 3 months probation period(3-year contract) and I am unhappy with my job. What is a good reason to tell to my employer? What if he will not allow me to stop?
I had my medical exam last tuesday(08.12.2008) and I need to go back on monday for finger printing(I think) to complete the Iqama.
No, if you don't like your job you have to stay here until they release you. No such thing as resigning. And they will chain you to your desk if they even suspect you want to resign.

just to satisfy your homesickness, why dont you go home on coming Eid Holidays???

What field are you in Foine69? and what is that you dont like about your job.
i have no iqama yet.
i would rather go back to philippines and never come back to doha again than to finish my PROBATION PERIOD.
Thanks a lot guys for all your feedbacks.

If you want to go home you can just resign! No need to give any reasons, simply resign and go back home.
I know!
what about the worker's right?
Same problem!
My reason is:
Long working hours, no days off...
Do I need to give a good reason to not to continue my work? I've been working for 15 days already for my 3 months probation period(3-year contract) and I am unhappy with my job. What is a good reason to tell to my employer? What if he will not allow me to stop?

Anyway, I'm direct-hired.
I really wanted to go home. Please advise.
During probation period either party can terminate the contract.
try to get more & more information about your job and company.. this will help u to decide...
is correct.
Both parties are on probation with each other.
of course you can leave the company, but before they will issue your RP under thier sponsorship... FC, NO sponosorship - NO need release.. :)
and it's good idea to make sure you like the company BEFORE they finalize your RP process..
LOL Fatcat :D
ahhahahah!
If you're looking for a problem, you're probably gonna find one.
No, if you don't like your job you have to stay here until they release you. No such thing as resigning. And they will chain you to your desk if they even suspect you want to resign.
