And then, because we're such a generous nation, let all the other nations of the world beat us at them. Repeatedly.

understood all the monkey antics had it been unexpected.

Compare the swimmers response with that of Kristin Armstrong after her unexpected gold in the womens cycling time trial and even that of Phelps after his tenth gold. No comparison.

The British are indulging themselves with their national sport of kicking, that stupid ball all the time.

Lets not forget, the foreigners that are hire to play in their own leagues.

The british are much more modest.. but no less winning always go to their heads. For such competative people they sure do lose alot at sports! You guys must feel Gutted!

Now excuse me while I gloat to my poor old hubby!

Why who's asking???

If Danny Devito is asking, tell him "It's for us to know and for him to find out"

I don't think the Americans are the only ones that celebrate in that manner. Not to mention - did you see that finish? That was such a fantastic comeback - nearly impossible to achieve. My daughter is a swimmer and she was blown away.

Bernard's comments probably added to the celebration

"French swimmer Alain Bernard fueled media frenzy before the men’s 4x100 meter freestyle relay in Beijing with his prediction for the race: “The Americans? We will smash them. That's what we came here for.”

Just my humble opinion.

As for living in the UK. I think it is a great country with a rich history. I don't think I could live there because of the weather though. I don't like cold or rain.

Great Britain Can't be too bad, half of the world wants to live here. Besides, it's only the size of Florida and was able to civilize half of the world!

to see the American swim relay team celebrating modestly.........not!

Look how great we are! When will they learn it's that attitude that riles people?

I'm all for celebrating but there are ways not to do it.

What makes us Great is that we play for the fun and enjoyment, not neccessarily for the winning..

Tell that to every country you left behind to stop competing their countries in soccer, cricket, rugby against yours. LOL

You see , you missed a very basic fact about the Brits..

What makes us Great is that we play for the fun and enjoyment, not neccessarily for the winning..

"T'is better to have played and lost, then never to have played at all" - Nobby Stiles after the 66 World Cup.
