Well mrT no body can bomb Pakistan, this i am very sure. Pakistan is not the same, it is fully capable to repond and break off the thrust.

No body wants conflict and it is the matter of principal that who so ever lives there should be a law abiding citizen and will not create havoc and destroy buildings else where.

The other coup is certainly impossible. It will not happen but the government will collapse as there in no definite majority of any party.

By mrT• 20 Aug 2008 20:43

Musharrfar was one of the great leaders country has seen, he had to face some of the toughest situations and make some of the toughest choices. ppl cry about him being USA puppy, had he not choose to be with them, pakistan would be bombed with afghanistan. PPL of Pak chose to bring the corrupts in power, well I am not sure i "choosing" is teh rigth word since most of the votes are bought from poors of the nation in return of money and hope. I just hope another coupe happens soon and Pervaiz or Keyani comes back in power, if not we will soon be in the shoes of Afgahnistan and Iraq, not because of militant but because of the corrupt pair who will sell pak and ppl of pak in a heart beat.

All these politicians came only after Musharaf's approval other wise they were still out, i think this was not his right decision.

They all cannot say anything about him they themselves had been drivin out then permitted to come back by Musharaf himself. Musharaff carried out a free and fair election and this is his great credit to the country. I myself casted vote for Nawaz sharif (which i regret now) there and i am sure elections were very fair.

You have to see a person all over, in aggregate musharaff was a good leader and he never filled his pocket like Late benazir. He can readily come back in the next elections as there is a split in the government already, he is not the one who will run away like a jackal.

yeah its true that in past people have been imported having dual nationalities.. they came... enjoyed and went back like Shukat Aziz... this is a bitter reality that we dont have any one with real characteristics of Leadership but... if we compare the two situations

that when America came under attack, its proved that terrorist were not pakistani, mostly were arabic and some other nationalities... so what was the logical reason to put pressure on Pakistan?

when Pakistan was going for Atomic Explosions.. all the world leaders were showing concerns,, speicially US president five times called the Pak PM, put pressure on him to avoid Atomic Explosions... AND everyone knows what happened next... PAKISTAN BECAME NUCLEAR POWER...

so my question is this which condition was more stressfull???

Who compares to Mushraf....?

Which Ex-Leader leader in Pakistan can be held as better than Mushraf? The time he was the Prez was one of the toughest times Pakistan had ever encountered ....with so much pressure from US to allow a proxy run of the Country....anybody would have wilted....anybody.

Now it seems they have the so called "democratic" proxy government in place to run the country as they deem fit. Bush must finally be happy. He was quite sad that Pakistan had to endure Mushraf.

My final thought is - will Mushraf face the same fate as Saddam Hussien? I think so. And I feel sad that his life is in danger.

FDor a country with such resources and capability, Pakistan is like a Banana Republic..

Both Zardari and Sharif have shown themselves to be corrupt in the past, yet the people allow them to return to power and actually cheer.

The country has been in Limbo since the election, yet the issue of judges is used to barter , whilst the people suffer ghardships.

Wake up people and smell the roses.... Your country is going down the tubes..

By Xray• 19 Aug 2008 23:02
Xray

this is not the case only...

Musharaf did some very major blunders specialy during the last 2-3 years of his rule...

most of the policies were to protect the concerns of powerfull people who are in his government party... he wants to keep them happy to protect his rule...

during the last 4 months after election, he refused to resign although publicaly he said before that when he will see or realize that people of Pakistan wants no more him in power he will stepdown...but every one witness that he persist to be president...

this action damaged the economy of Pakistan...due to uncertain conditions, dollar starts going out of the country and then a stage came that when even State Bank of Pakistan was not able to support Rupee because of lack of US dollar in the country... Rupee hit the lowest level in the history against US dollar...

he sell out pakistani to others just for few dollers, crushed innocent student with heavily armed forces in Lal Masjid...Our Army is fighting with our own people in the country...for WHAT??? Is it our WAR??

By anonymous• 19 Aug 2008 21:01
anonymous

indeed, he did alot for the country, and to my knowledge he was the only president who did not fill up his own pockets, none of his children "inherited" the pak money..

now we are left with Nawaz and zerdari??? wow pak future looks so bright eh??? i guess give another 5 yrs and we might see Keyani as our new president cuz"yehi hamari owqaat hey"!

Seeing all over musharaff was a good person. A patriot and i have respect for him. He could have resigned earlier much more gracefully and should not have lingered.

He was daring and intelligent and he proved that he blonged to the elite commando battalion (SSG) of Pakistan Army which is the best of the best by all standards.

He should not have awarded mercy to Asif Zardari's & benazir regarding the cooruption cases worth US $ 1 billion. The same culprit went after him.

He had some mistakes but my tributes for that daring and brave person indeed.

Look at Pakistans past dictatorial rulers, they took over power, destroyed all their enemies so as to consolidate power. Musharaf, spared Nawaz Sharif (from being tried for treason/whatever!), gave up his military position, brought in elections, tried to reduce corruption (atleast outwardly), tried to rein in the fanatic elements of society. And bought himself a one way ticket out of Pakistan!
