Has anyone else tried IE8 Beta? I have problems with IE 7 crashing 10 times a day so gave it a try - it lasted 1 hour and the wheels fell off!!!

I also found that posting here I couldn't move the cursor with the mouse properly and had to resort to arrow keys.

Now back to version 7 again :o(

thnx b**s, using multiple browsers will help your task more easier and efficient. In Qatar, some times making a feel there s a lot spam attack in the network. If my IE is crashed, will go to Firefox 3.0.1 will do the job well.. Try addons in the Firefox, 'm sure u will be a F*FOX lover! So, wish u a crash free surfing today.. have a gud day.. :)

Thanks GFX, you've hit the nail on the head there. Crashes do seem to occur when clicking on facebook pages mostly.

I know IE8 is still Beta, but was kinda hoping it would be more stable than 7, but the same problem occurs.

And to all the other replies, Thanks too, but as I said earlier in the thread at least one essential work site will only work through IE4 and above (but not 8?) or etscape so merely changing browser isn't an option.

Would love a Mac, but this is a company PC so I can't be picky :o(

Hai.. 'm using IE8. so far no problm. But, sometimes with some sites making my browser crashing. If you are using IE8, there s a buton in near the address bar named 'EMULATE IE7'. So, if you selected that option, no problem at all. welcome any queries :)

I'm currently using IE8 Beta1, I wouldn't recommend using it only because it's still a beta release and bound to have a few bugs. Some web pages (very few) do not render correctly but I'm a beta tester, so I'm fine with it.

You could completely reset the settings and local Application Data for your IE7, and install the IE7Pro addon for extended customization, and it works perfect, no problems what so ever.

There have been times when I've had 5-6 instances of IE7 running with atleast 5-6 tabs each for more than 2 days without a problem. Same with Firefox, it will eat up all your memory (albeit, it's a good browser!)

666, you can use "Open Office" from Sun with Linux. It's free and compatible with Word, Excel, Powerpoint and the MS Drawing thingy.

Another Microsoft product. What else could we expect?! LOL! =p

Even though Mac OS X's default Web browser is Safari, I still use Mozilla Firefox. Try it, its the best! ;)

YEAH .. i tried it and i still use it ... its cool ... raelly cooll got no problems ....

the thing is IE7 is also OK ... but u got to keep deleting the temp files and cookies as well as reduce the security in internet options... it really slows down sometimes.,..... if u have yahoo toolbar or msn or gmail or any other toolbar on ur explorer uninstall all and use only crawler toolbar... its free and cool too... get it from http://www.crawler.com/products/toolbar.aspx

so go ahead and enjoy.... donot forget to clean ur system file, temp files, broken links, dead files, everything ... if u donot know, then the best software is ccleaner... get it from www.ccleaner.com...

really rocks... best of luck ... see ya

The BEST Browser...Safari! There are only a couple of sites that are restricted to IE, so i don't bother using IE. Also, go for a MAC. WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY better than Windows. No virus, easy to use. If you can't afford a Mac, go for a Hac. that's what i did.

Same here, I have given up Explorer ages ago and am happy fire fox customer.

Anyone using Linux on PC? How is the performance and what about the regular Windows softwares? Can we use MS office etc. with Linux?

I use Opera for my own stuff. It will resume downloads :o)

However for work there are some sites that only work with IE or Netscape - i.e. the guy who coded the page didn't care what the rest of the world are using!
