Well you have to buy ASTM copy as it cannot be available online. They earn huge amount of money selling its copies.

ASTM is most widely used in the world but becasue Qatar remained in lot of influence of British in the past , the goevenrment which act as a client still dictates even our largest US based company to use BS standards in some items for example like crack control width spec. This can be waived from our side but the thing is that it depends on your senior most person in your company.

By the passage of time they will realise that BS code is conservative and should not be required to follow becasue their research is obsolete as compared to US based reasearch in engineering which has a larger data base because of its large no of batter world class unviersities.

Sorry i cant provide you any personal electronic/hard copy as i dont own them myself.

Can we share ASTM and BS ?

mjamille28 they seem to me a civil engineering or structural engineering BS standards. They are a material specs. Americal ASTM code is better than BS and most widely used in this regard.

Sorry i myself have changed and i am trying to change much of the design criteria documents in my company to be forwarded to the clients to american codes like ACI, AASHTO etc as i am trained in that environment.

Not much knowledge of BS codes as well as i did not study there in my country and abroad but for sure US codes are much better becasue of many reasons.

I found in the past that if you do an 'Advanced' Google search for "British Standard NNNN" where NNNN is the number you are looking for and select 'file type' = PDF you can sometimes get lucky :o)

many can be found from torrentz, or if u are a member, u can download everything for free.

ASME & AIAA are American standards, and quite inferior to British ones ;o)
