The cost of living in Qatar is not just bad for ex-pats, I think it is worse for Qataris. Most of us are offered housing and such, they pay all theirs.

EXTORTIONATE, YOU WILL BE FLEECED AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY.

if you come hope you have alot alot of cash.

Just cant see how anyone could possibly even contemplate taking a job here now. The population is growing with the addition of subcontinent asians. professional people are leaving, not coming. Ask anyone reputable and they will tell you quality of life has deteriorated drastically the last couple years. You can take a leak without it costing you something. You still must rent here and your local landlord is just waiting to take you for a ride. You must be pretty desperate to take a job here now.

I can state pretty safely, that the cost of living is similar to that in Australia, rent wise at least or probably worse, as the rent for an apartment here is similar for houses in my part of Australia. Grocery prices are much better here, as there is no GST (VAT)on anything, so I can shop fairly freely without having to worry about the cost. The cost of things like fuel obviously you are a long way ahead in Qatar, it cost around 6 times more in Australia per litre, so driving can be costly, but the wages and incomes are large generally compared to some countries.

Inflation rate is 14 %. If you get 10 % salary increase in a year you're lucky and still work for less than the previous year.

High and mostly unaffordable. Every year it gets worse. Only gas is inexpensive.
