beaches in qatar
Hi all
Visiting qatar for a week in nov and staying with friends , need access to a beach/pool. Do you know if you can use the private beaches of the sheraton and Inter Continental hotels and if so what is the daily rate.
Can anyone suggest other decent facilities that you can visit on a daily basis
Thanks
mike
Facing out to sea try the public beach to the right of the Intercon..........theres loads of broken glass, condoms, beer cans, fag ends and all sorts of stuff on it but hey its free so wear boots! Yippeeee Yipeee its a public beach for me! Hic. Take Gin.
it is 950QR for a year and you get 2 vouchers for the beach for 2 people, (normally 20QR per person per day) plus many other benefits including 25% off participating restaurants and 20% off alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Enjoy your stay here in Doha.
We like Dukhan beach - free, clean, not too many people, one our drive. Our family place!
Sealine - QR 100 per person, plus QR 50 for car...swimming pool is overcrowded with not very clean water, beach is dirty...
Continental - QR 200 per person, beach is so-so...not worth the money
Novita, love your post on Qatar travel group, a pity there seem to be not much activity in there..will keep on checking...for ideas where to go next. Although i don't patronized the travel agency tour package. I opt for non tourits places, more like where the local goes and almost always find a gem of a place and experienced.
cheap n best ......... sealine beach resort
Qatar has 563 km of coastline, why do you want to bother with hotels??
True Novita, come to think of it...not even in the best resort in Europe you pay that much for a day membership..well, here, there is not much competition and people has no option. I went with a friend to Intercon 2 weeks back and after having a salad, a drink, coffee that prety much add up to like QR 500.
thanks all for your feedback
guess just have to limit the number of days I go.
the prices are pretty steep.
There must be other hotels with cheaper prices , someone did mention the Ramada hotel

Sara ... thats steeeeep. And you will have to spend the money on food and drink as well ... very easy to spend QR 500 for 1 days for 1 person.
Intercontinental charges QR200 per day for non member.
Diplomatic club is also a good option, we use to go along with a member so no idea how much the rate for non member.
try to call intercon ... they used to let a non member guest to pay day rate like QR 150 plus tax, not too sure the presents rate.
