Hi Everyone,

Please am on a 3months visit visa that my husband's company got for me and it states the duration as 5th Aug to 4th Nov 2008.

I just noticed that under the stamp on my passport at the point of entry by Qatar Immigration, it was written with a pen (1 month). Please what does this mean? Do I have to renew this month again even though it says 3 months on my visa.

Thanks for your help

Thank you so much, actually have done my medicals already, and I came into qatar on the 16th, so have still got abot six days before I get fined. Am waiting for my medical result, I think it should come out tomorrow as I did it last wednesday.

Do I take the medical result to Airport immigration for extension or just give to my husband's company to do the leg work. What do you suggest?

i am here on a visit visa same as u. when they stamp 3 months validity it means u should enter the country anytime within the 3 months. once here u get a month, 2 month what ever at the immigration counter. u now have to go get ur medical ie. xray & blood test done & get a visit visa renewal done, if that is what u want. if not do the medical & proceed with RP work. i have dont this process just a month back & am still on visit visa(renewed).

I think the visa validity is 3 months from the date of arrival. But it is required to get visa from the date of stamp on pasport by submitting passport through your husband's sponserer office. Better contact sponserers office for information.

I got into Qatar about almost 2 months ago with a business visit visa. The visa states 3 months, but, actually the immigration only allows 1 month and you need to renew it every time it is about to expire. Another month extension is all you get every time you renew. I'm about to renew for the 2nd time, i.e. to make it 3 months by now. Hope I don't have to get out of Doha and come back again as what I used to do before I got the business visa. Anyway, shall wait and see what happens (whether or not it's going to be extended) after next week!

every VISA being given, the moment you arrive Qatar, will only have a 30 days validity. You can extend it to a maximum of 90 days provided you did your medical at the medical commission. Since your already 2 days due, you are bound to pay the penalty of QR500( i think...or more) per day. You can't extend it if you haven't got your medical and blood group taken. i suggest you do start your medical first thing tomorrow because the result will be after 3 days (the earliest). AFter you receive the result, proceed to immigration, pay the penalty and pay for the extension fee.

Thank you so much for your response, I think the best thing to do is go to the immigration office to find out.

Are there opening hours the same as other offices during ramadan (7am-12 noon)?

I can't say without seeing yours but I had a similar when I came here. I arrived with my husband who was to be my sponsor when RP done. The writing in mine simply said please report to immigration within 30 days. As the company took care of all our RP things, I didn't have to. Please get someone to check it out though

Within one month of your arrival, you have to get your medical exams done and apply for renewal for next two months.

It is better to confirm these things with your husband's compnay mandoob/PRO.
