Hi there.
I am in the market to buy a new vehicle. I want a SUV , but there are so many to choose from. I have narrowed my choice down to either a GMC Yukon, or a Nissan Armada. The Landcruiser is also nice, but there are so many of them.
What about CHEV are they any good.

Anyone out there that has any of these vehicles or has had experiances with them. Also if there are any other cars I need to consider let me know!!

Cheers

Hi Gerrit welcome to Doha. A big change from good old SA but a lovely place to live and bring kids up. Enjoy and keep in touch.

It is nice to talk to people from home. Cat, I noticed the stop start.

How long have you been here, and where you from?

Is it true that when you take your car for a service the people at the garage takes your car to "test" and then abuse it?

Hire the vehicle you want to test out that way you can get a bette feel for the vehicle. There as many car hire places with good vehicles. Dont forget there is more stop start driving here like JHB and not the freeflow of DBN

Qatar don't have swimming beaches like in SA. Hell, the sea here's more like Vaaldam.

Start early, cause there's a lot of paper work that needs to be done before hand through your Mandoub or PRO. Not like in SA where you can buy a car in a second, here it will take more than a week, if the Mandoub's quick.

I arrived on the 4th. I was struggling in the beginning, cause I had no transport, nor a TV, but now I am coping.

I received my licence and car( dont like it), got satelite tv,and a map to get around.

I am working with really nice people and they have been very friendly. The company I work for has gone out of their way to make me feel at home, and helped me settle in nicely.

I still have to get use to the driving skills of some people, but I suppose they think I am a bad driver. I am getting use to driving on the right side of the road.

I tried to find a beach last Friday, but could not. Where can I go for a swim. Being from Durban I love the ocean, and would like to take a dip somewhere.

So far so good.
