No love for classic cinema?
An officemate of mine was asking for a copy of comedy movies in avi formats. I gave him a copy of the Back To The Future trilogy coz I thought it was a fun movie to watch. The next day he was asking me for another comedy movie and said that he didn't like it coz the trilogy was an old movie.
I mean, look. Back To The Future wasn't that old. Heck, if you watch it over and over, it's still pretty enjoyable. It never grows old the more I repeatedly see it.
It's just that...any people who asks a movie to me always wants a new movie. At that time when Iron Man or Incredible Hulk was shown in theatres around Qatar, everybody wanted a copy of it. I mean, You can't get a good download copy of a movie that's just shown in recently unless you wanted a copy that looks like it was videotaped out of a cinema where you can see people walking around, picture sooo blurry, the sound so bad, and the videocam shakes handheld.
And yet they want the new movie, no matter how bad the video quality is.
Some people just...don't want an old movie, no matter how recommended it is, and they'll go for the latest ones.
Sad part of it is...these type of people doesn't want to repeat a movie they've just seen. Now I have a 'proper' copy of Iron Man to recommend them but they didn't want it anymore.
The other part of it was...they just...don't wanna try watching the latest movie on the big screen. It's just 30QRs. There's more magic to the new movie watching it in cinemas itself than in your personal laptop.
Is it a typical mentality around here? I suddenly think I got a whole new different meaning to the term 'movie enthusiasts'...
umm no didn't see this, ok let me check the availablity...
Got a copy of mine here. Browsed some scenes but haven't seen it in full...

He never really had a chance to be a good Pres..to busy dealing w/issues unrelated to his elected office. Agree about Palin was hoping for Lieberman..a good moderate! Similar to Bill in being somewhere in the middle politically. People in the US are starting to take a liking to Palin?? We will see ....There was a GREAT SNL skit 2 weeks ago w/Palin (tina fey) and Hillary (dont know actress) holding a press conference..Google it you might find it...FUNNY!!!

Good chance you vote for McCain she could be pres..His health isnt all that great and his age???....Dont know much about the UK politics :( but you r right about Charisma..that is why Barak is so popular...I am from his home state and didnt know much about him until he gave that key note speech last election..and then didnt hear much about him until this election...we will see..
Hillary would make a good president, it's just she's no Bill!
...and it seems that Charisma is more important than politics nowadays, just look at the UK!
Meant...go w/experience AND a pretty face or w/something new
Hillary..Barack is ok BUT..the country is in a quandry..do we go w/experience or take a chance w/something new & a pretty face?? They seem to be neck n neck right now..

...He served his country reasonably well, and given his position (excuse the pun), his physical urges or vices are much better than many other leaders, past and present!
I'm a big fan of his as well. Although I do like Hillary, I favour Barack!

Try Dune and The Straight Story. The Elephant Man makes a nice use of black-and-white cinematography in an era of color (80's).

no more nuances...everything has to be IN YOUR FACE... When you mention visual and sensory impact..It brings to mind one of my fav. movies..The cook The thief His wife and her lover...not a classic but should be..
Here's the thing. you should try as many David Lynch movies. If you've managed to survive them Lynch's then you'll easily survive Herzog. Just that.

i have "Gone w/the Wind" on my laptop, if required, then available... and i agree with brite opinion that for youngsters these movies becomes outdated...specially if you are watching a Sci-Fi movie of nineties, definitely it will outdated...
Then why do the studios keep re-making the old ones?
However, for some, especially youngsters , who are used to modern special effects and computer animation, these movies can seem dated and boring..
Youth??? Can only love them. They make so sense to me :)
I just miss something watching "Gone w/the Wind" on my laptop w/headphones.....
its relevantly mush easier to watch movie at laptop with headphones in the night giving you full privacy and concentration... whereas you have to bound to timings for cinema...of course money also involves...hustle to go there...
PM ....unlike you to discuss pirated movies...
and they show them over and over and over and over and over .... zzzzzzzzzz
