I want to buy a phone for my wife and one for my son. My question is. Where do I go, Does one get a phone when signing a contract or do you sign a contract and buy a phone?
Q tel has a crappy website with no info.
There are only 2 types of offers and both come from one provide ( Q-Tel ):
1) pre paid which you can get from any Q-Tel showroom, your air time is related to how much you re-fill your account, the refil cards can be baught from nearly any shop.
2) Monthly paid, this can be done from the main Q-Tel offices [ in al Sadd - carrefour ..], you need to get a letter from your sponser and fill in a certain type of contract, then you pay them monthly either at one of thier outlets or on-line, in this case you have an un limited air line.
Hope this will shed some light to hat you want to know.
best regards
Note: a few offers are avaliable on the pre paid card that give you with it a mobile phone.
Best to buy one of your choice from any where in Doha, though carrefour do provide the cheepest ( in general )
Ok. In South Africa, you sign a contract with a service provider of your choice. They give you a cell phone free, which you can upgrade every two years upon signing a new contract.
If you do not sign a contract with a service provider, you can buy a starter kit and a phone , and then buy airtime with a certain value and load the airtime on the phone. Once you have spend ( talked) all the airtime, you need to buy more airtime to use the phone again. If you have a cellphone contract, you get unlimmited airtime, and get a bill at the end of the month.
Does it work the same way here. Hope this is more clear.
Your question is confusing. Anyway, you can buy a cellphone anywhere. The Qtel SIM (hala) its the prepaid one , you only need to present your Qatar ID to the outlets that sold this kind of SIM Card. For the GSM you need to go to the Qtel and sign some agreement form before you can get your SIM.
You can buy a phone anywhere, virgin, carrefour, or kiosks in the mall. you go to Qtel with your RP and get a postpaid contract and they give you sim cards to put in your phones.

Your question is very confusing. I don't think it is required to sign any contract to buy a phone.
