Debating or Baiting? Threats or Discussion?

Overlook
By Overlook

In reply to a thread I posted recently, three people in particular posted replies which were designed to provoke a strong reaction from me rather than entering into any sensible discussion on the subject.

These people were obviously not interested in 'debating' the subject but rather were only interested in engaging me in a game of 'baiting'.

Here are some of their posts and some of my responses, decide for yourselves on the intent behind them.

"hashin said overlook ...
yup its part of the islamic belief that it cannot be ridiculed... we take our faith seriously... question it and you shall get an answer, ridicule it and you are asking for trouble"
Fri, 26/09/2008 - 3:29pm reply

"Overlook said hashin ...
If you read my post carefully you will not find the word 'ridicule' in it.
I am not ridiculing anybody, I'm talking about reasoned, logical and fair questions, nothing else."
Fri, 26/09/2008 - 3:39pm edit reply

"adey said hashin - what happens when ...
hashin - what happens when the logic of the muslim trying to answer one's questions becomes ridiculous? One points out to them that they are being ridiculous and by manifesting the whole concept - holding a mirror to their face.I think IMHO you should change you wording to insulting not ridicule.
If you ridicule my beliefs that does not entitle me to feel that you are asking for it or act upon that -
"you are asking for trouble" is very threatening and leaves one in mind that their physical safety is in jeopardy - THAT is the problem, very medieval thinking."
"Deaths in the Bible. God - 2,270,365
not including the victims of Noah's flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, or the
many plagues, famines, fiery serpents, etc because no specific numbers
were given. Satan - 10."
Fri, 26/09/2008 - 3:42pm reply

"hashin said oooof... thats a water tight case... ...
I can sense the jury is likely to vote in favour of PM... unless we have 'overlooked' something... Overlook, what evidence do you have to submit in your defence?"
Sun, 28/09/2008 - 8:54pm

"Overlook said hashin, how did you get ...
hashin, how did you get involved in this?
Does it involve you in some way?
What does this have to do with you?
Are you the one man jury?
What do you have to say in your defence?"
Sun, 28/09/2008 - 8:59pm

"PM said Not only is Hashin the one man jury -- ...
Wait until you see him take up his role as executioner! hehehehe."

Apology should be from one who had used the abusive words against me first and was mocking. I dont care what you think, but keep your thinking inside you if you are trying to mock then expect a response that tells to hold on please.

Follow your manners. HEERO and Platao have not started any religious threads , they seemed mentally agitated and seem disturebed. Sorry to say that they are not religious threads but the childish reaction when they were taught some manners.

However I noticed a poster on this thread (so far I think he was the last poster but not sure) has the same problem with another person recently in that he just completely mis-interpreted what a woman had said, blasted her for it then failed to apologise when it was all plain to see that see never mentioned what he said.

I also noticed that the same poster in this thread had posted several times in the other thread, brought religion into this thread which often causes huge arguments, when there wasn't any mention of religion in this thread in the first place.

If you wish to discuss religion feel free to start your own thread about it, just like Heero and Platao do.

Isn't it so much easier if people didn't speak in riddles and just got to the point

:)

I just cant understand what was the thread all about that people are talking about here and therefore cannot comment, but one thing i clearly saw in some previous posts (from a woman making comments here as well) that she should be careful in choosing her words without offending any religion in a mocking way. These are the basic manners one need to follow, and she was aware what she was doing.

If you want to question Islam then there is a way a do it without making any mocking jestures and if you dont agree with Islam then nothing is forced on somebody to adopt, every one is free in choosing the religion.

how I got dragged into this?

CID were a no show today, but I did talk to lots of 'English as a second language' students who had a keener grasp of english and its MEANING than our friend seems to have.

Plus I duobt anyone of them are likely to be institutionalized, something unfortunatly I fear can not be said.........oh forget it! :D

Men have authority over women because God has made the one superior to the other, and because they spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard unseen parts because God has guarded them. As for those from whom fear disobedience, admonish them, forsake them in beds apart, and beat them. Then if they obey you, take no further action against them. Surely God is high, supreme.

Wow. You're still with me with my 'woman problems' after all...
