Manual Transmission
Are the days of manual transmission cars disappeared. Isnt the manual geared vehicle better in terms on maintenance / fuel efficiency / control!
Isnt there any good resale value for a manual geared vehicle now that the automatic cars are around?
Are people looking mainly for auto transmission vehicles?
Thanks for your response.

I don’t think these days manual cars has good resale value
Depend on your driving habit and kind of drives you take.
There are now tiptronic gears for people who want to have a minor manual control over automatic gears, but for tiptronic the gear system is automatic itself but with limited manual override features, just to give the driver the manual gear pleasure. The problems of maintenance and fuel economy of automatic remain the same.
With this kind of traffic, you certainly need Automatic Transmission. It'd be a pain to change gears so often at the round-abouts and at all the traffic signals and when traffic is reduced to a crawl!
It depends on your own use, so if you drive for long distance and in highways then manual gear is more durable. Some cars here like Nissan patrol, Land cruiser G standard and some others are manual which is better for off roading and power. Same applies for sports cars also. So you will find proffesional drivers choosing manual while most others prefer comfort so they go to automatic gear box.
The off road cars are mostly wanted with stick-shift. Automatic cars are no good in the dunes or desert. Family town cars are mostly automatic.
If you got a normal family car you probably want an Automatic. If you want a real Sports car, then it's only Manual that is usable. An Automatic on a Sports Car is always a disappointment. Personally I find Manual Gear better for Off road driving as it gives you a lot more Control. The Same is driving on Snow and Ice.
Yes, no, yes.
