should be one reason to stop you playing around ... I don't know which is better ... having 2 wives or countless number of relations with other women in the name of playing ...

Ankhesenamun- She married Tutankhamun at the age of thirteen King Tutankhamun was married when he was very young, probably little more than ten years old. The reason for this was that the Egyptian king was expected to have a wife (sometimes more than one) who would have helped him to carry out some of the official religious duties of his office.

Tutankhamun married Ankhesenaten, one of the daughters of his father Akhenaten and his STEPMOTHER Queen Nefertiti, so she was his HALF-sister!

She was a little older than Tutankhamun himself.

Later, Ankhesenaten changed her name to Ankhesenamun, "She lives (ankhes) for (en) the god Amun (amun)".

She was originally called Ankhesenpa'aten and she was born in 'Amarna Period probably in the city Akhetaten. During their marriage, she gave birth to TWO PREMATURE children.

It’s possible the children died because of close blood relations.

Although she was married to Tutankhamun, she had another husband before him....LOL & LMAO

She was married for a short period to Smenkhare.

It’s estimated her marriage was only one to three years.

Look back into 'history', platao. Pharao married even his sisters, for political, power, and money reasons. Alexander the Great (?) married a princess in every country he conquered for political, power, and money reasons. High ranking Arabs (mostly Muslims) marry cousins and many girls for political, power, and money reasons. It is an ancient pattern of politics, power, and wealth. It has nothing to do with love or something like that. It has been sanctioned by societies because it was introduced by the rulers.

Isn't supposed to be better to choose 2 instead of choosing between 2? I must agree that it's an individual option who are we to judge such a matter? Just would like to take the chance to inform that on a poligamic relation it must work on both sides, if men has more than 1 woman than she's also free to get another man, and all live like a familly, it's a question of education.

yes and thats why we should always leave religion out of it, marrying 4 in islam had its obvious reasons back in days, and if guys are still marrying for the same reasons, with the permission of thier wives, than their is no harm, but in todays world, its more of a cultural issue than religion, religion is just being used and abused. Thier are more important hadith and messages from Quran that needs to be followed, but culturaly influneced, we just get stuck on 4 marraiges.............

there are women who are married to 2 or more men at the same time, and these men happens to be brothers....I read this in yahoo news few days back, will try to find the article later...Its a village in India, and its a practice that goes way back, due to poverty and wanting to keep the land, all the brothers in the family marries the same woman, they have children and they can't tell whos is whos, but they say they don't care its all ok with them, this particular couple who was interviewed, their teenage daugter and 2 sons said that they will follow the tradition, infact the sons already have picked their woman. So I don't know for those women, but ewwww grosss, disgusting, but hey if they are ok with that, its thier business..I can see a man dividing his nights, but can't imagine a woman doing that, must be pretty exhausting............

I guess the prophet has said it is greedy for a man to have more than one. And marrying more than one is the last resort if he cannot hold on to his lust.

Seriously a man cannot continuously "service" more than one woman.

And since he cannot continuously "service" more than one woman it opens the door for her( 2nd, 3rd or 4th) to commit adultery.

1. HE doesn’t divide anything. HE just wants to have another woman legally. :)

2. Divide HIS wealth? I don’t think so. It divides the wives’ wealth, since the same amount will be divided by two.. but does “HE” care? :)

3. This is the idea. When one starts nagging, to run away from her, as other one is waiting. Then to repeat the procedure backwards

4. Again, as long as there is a budget for each of them, shopping is not HIS issue

5. Go to No.3. Replace “nagging” by “fighting”

I don't understand the concept of marriage to begin with, unless you're just looking at having the pretty party...so I can't say I agree with it personally, but hey, as long as everyone in the situation is in agreement, why not.

First of all I dont agree any woman would agree to share their husband for life.

More than 1 wives is a silly thing to do

Because

1. It divides "your family" into 2 or more families....why would anybody want to divide their family.

2. It also divides "your wealth" and the wealth you would leave for your kids.

3. Naging is doubled.

4. Shopping is doubled.

5. Fighting is doubled.

...the only benefit I can think of is sex.

There is wrong perception of Islam's permission. In fact problem is this that we try to mold most of the Islam's permissions according to our needs or desires.

It is clearly written in the Holy Book of Quran that man can marry second if his first wife allows him. Now why his first wife will allow, this really depends upon the situation. May be it first wife couldn't conceive for child, I think this could be the strong reason.

Now u can imagine that marry more than once is not allowed openly, it depends upon first wife. If some one says that his wife is not of good character or there is any problem in her dealings so then why are you going for second one. You can divorce her with her rights, payments, etc then marry with the other.

Salman rushdi the biggest anty islamic writer married more than four times and now he is stared a bollywood cinema actress to marry even her age is blow 25. How could we justify this thing.

Islam is not only a religion as the christianity and jewish.

I will bow to your better knowledge. From what I had read, the Mormon Church is opposed to polygamy and excommunicates any member who is discovered to be practicing polygamy. However, there are several ultra-orthodox offshoots of the Mormon Church , especially in rural parts of Utah, which quietly practice polygamy today basically under a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. Most polygamists just want to be left alone and don't want notoriety. The most famous polygamist communities are Colorado City, Arizona, just south of the Utah border, and its neighboring town of Hildale, Utah.

Having lived in Utah I can emphatically state that the Mormon church (their actual name is Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints) has nothing to do with polygamy. Those off-shoots that you talk about have absolutely no ties to the Mormon church. They are about as related as jews and palestinians.

The Mormons haven't practiced polygamy in over 100 years. The US does not allow it nor does the mormon church. Look at the US news. They are tracking these guys down and putting them in jail. The problem isn't just multiple wives but the ages in which they are married. These groups are forcing 14 year old girls to marry men old enough to be their grandfather. They also just leave the teenage boys out in the desert to fend for themselves. Can't have too many men ya know. I suggest checking your facts prior to posting.

- should be a reason to have another wife.

- it is better than divorce

- the Population for (female to male) in the world is (6:1)
