STRAY CATS
Can anyone help me find homes for five lovely kittens? The mother, a stray, gave birth beneath my garden shed and has been there for the past six to eight weeks. She was very ill and undernourished and we have fed her and her babies - thankfully they are now all healthy and have become very friendly. However, we are not in a position to keep them and would love them to go to good homes. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? I know that the animal shelter is currently overloaded.....
Thanks
Its wonderful that there are others out there willing to help the stray animals - in this case cats in Qatar, however, please remember, that feeding the cats daily will make them reliant on you permenantly.
These cats need to keep their natural survival instints to hunt for food. What happens if you are no longer around to feed them? Your generosity can become a burden to people moving into the area once you vacate, and they might not be as inclined to feed the cats are you are.
Please try not to feed them on a daily basis, but rather stagger the days you feed, and also don't feed in the same place but at different areas, that way they don't become used to a routine.
Do follow Tallg's advise on having the cats neutered and spayed - you can contact the Qatar Cat Coalition for advice on how to go about it.

If you find stray cats you should take them to the Government vets to be neutered (for free). This will help keep the population of strays down. If you don't and you continue to feed them you are just contributing to the problem.
I THINK YOU CAN FEED THEM OUTSIDE. BECAUSE I AM ALSO FACING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. I AM ALSO SEARCHING ANY GOOD CAMPS FOR SOME OF MY STREET CATS. I AM FEEDING DAILY AROUND 18 TO 20 SOME OF THEM GOT KITTENS TOO. THREE I PUT IN ONE FARM WITH SOMEBODY'S HELP. BUT IT SEEMS THEY WILL NOT TAKE MORE.
I HOPE SOMEONE WILL HELP YOU TOO. THERE ARE GOOD PEOPLE TOO TO TAKE CARE OF ANIMALS IN DOHA.
REGARDS
