Man i got the same problem with Nana Group I am working in X Travel & Tours, she came & she took business class tickets to Dammam, she paid by cheque, she said that the 2nd day she'll come & replace the cheque with cash. One week later i deposit the cheque & no funds in the account. So, am suing her to the court now. I warned her several times but she doesn't care, & i send her more then ten messages, every time i am trying to call her she'll turn off her mobile, so this's the best thing 2 do with such people.

Everyone has a contract with NANA Group should expect that, this is how they are making money (Mazna and Mohamed), get 1 year in advance, and stop paying the owner after few months.

I have just got some information about her:

- there are over 100 case against her

- total amount of cases checks is reaching 20 million QR, yes twenty million, not a typo.

- she was in jail 2 weeks ago, and they released her after paying 1500QR fine.

so I guess the police is doing nothing, and will do nothing.I already have contact details for 6 victims including myself:

Any update, when and where are we getting together to go to gulf news office, did anybody manage to get the money, This lady still she is not answerring the call, we all need to pull this agent. The agent knew where she is and they are talking every day, the reason I knew this is.

She did not answer to my calls, and she does'nt knew that I am in the office of agent, and she called on the agent Phone (Mohammed Amin)and the story goes on...., therefore, we need to tell the police to catch M.Amin to find where Mazna is

I have nothing concrete against "Wait RealEstate", all papers and checks have the name of NANA Group. All I can do is filing a case with the bounced check, which I did. That is it.

For my case, my lawyer advised me not to go for a fraud case, it will cost money and the probability of winning it is minimal.

I do not know about the other guys, but it is a good idea to go to the newspapers together, drop me an email to arrange for that.

Mark, go to the Capital Police near the airport, ask for the Checks devision, file a complaint, you have only 30 days if the check is bounced.

Guys come together and approach the police. Also, visit Gulf times office in a group requesting them to publish this news, take all documents copy like returned check, contract etc.

Police will not come to u neither will the media, you have to goto them...its your hard earned money dont let any crook get away with it.

what is procedure to book the case, and pull both of them Agent and Nana group. Is there any time limit? if the check is return from bank due to no balance. Do we have to file the complain to police, contact lawyer and file case in court etc...

There is no proof, beside the cost of hiring a lawyer to handle such case, which is about 20K, add to this the time it will take to get a final decision by the court, that might take 2 years.

What if I can take half of my money in 1 month? there is no justice in this country......

Open2008 have you heard of the word 'accomplice'. You can file case against the other partner and hold them as an accomplice to the crime. You just need to prove it.

Not yet, no progress, I know around other 5 people with different problems, only one person managed to get half of his money.

The main problem is with the guys renting the building for her "Wait Group", they are partners, but can not sue them as all papers signed by the Qatari girl....

i am surprised because if she comes from a Reputed and large family and is a Qatari, she will not indulge in such cheap things which are normally done by expatriates to earn extra income.

any updates on your case, open2008? did you contact the office? the owner? did you move into your flat? what's going on there?

its actually stupid to pay rental in cash in advance, such ads always smell suspicious, specially because its from real estate agents or middleman.

a proper owner, real estate company will make a contract and only ask for pd cheques....

Excuse me but as far as I know it is illegal in qatar to give q cheque with no balance, and it is one of the few things they dont go soft about here! I think you have to go to the bank and try to cash it in 3 times after which you can go to the police and whoever gave you the cheque that bounced will be arrested immediatelly!

aahhh.. so this is the story. then it's not just suspicious. so i would say call the police. this is the only way.

maybe you overreact? listen, this kind of stuff is happening in qatar all the time. i mean they don't know what they are doing. they can give you key of someone's else flat very easy. the watchman is too lazy to be there, he prefer to sleep.nobody wants to fix an A/C in any place. you can wait for the maintenance for few days even in Beverly Hills tower. so why wouldn't you either go to the office where you signed the contract or try to contact the owner?

I am not in the flat, I did not receive the keys even after 2 weeks the contract starting date. so I asked for my money, and they gave me a check..... with zero balance.

I signed it in the office.

There is another suspicious issue, when I was in the building last week, I met someone complaining that when he got his keys and opened the apartment, he found someone else inside. they said to him, it is a mistake, we will give u another apartment.

The owner is a Qatari "Shiekha", I do not know how to reach her, but will try.

i don't know what to do. i perhaps would go nats by that time. try to call the police. but to be honest,i don't think they will do anything. as i understasnd you live in the flat which you rented. police will do nothing only based on your feelings. not changing the a/c is not a crime.

here people get away even with much bigger crimes .try to contact the owner. that's all i can think of

3 & 4 - this is qatar, baby. I bought NEW LG a/c from the 'respected' store. The a/c got broken in 3 days, and i had to follow them and to beg them to fix/change my a/c for over two weeks IN JULY!!! this is QATAR. who f* cares about doing right their business??

and they have several cases like this before, so it is not the 1st time for NANA Group to scam people, but I do not have info from other people.

The owner of the building is renting it to company X, then company X re-rent it to NANA Group, and I signed the contract with NANA, while Wait Real Estate is marketing the apartment for NANA.

1- no watchman in the building

2- no one is answering his phone (spend 2 days to get in contact with someone)

3- no one to call for maintenance

4- they did not keep their promise of fixing the A/C for 2 weeks

5- they have originally offered the apartment for 5500 (2BR SF), then they increased it to 6500

6- met 3 other people have the same exact suspicious, but did not talk then.

7- last Friday someone came to the building and change all the apartment's locks, lately I knew that the owner did not get his 2nd check, so he changed all the locks.

The story is not yet finished, just called someone who knows these guys, and here is the story:

they rent a building for 1 year, pay 12 checks, for let us say 10,000 QR /month/aprt , then they re-rent it again for 6,500 QR/month/apt one year in advance.

The next step is not to pay the rent to the owner, so the tenants will have a problem with the owner, and it will end up with the tenants out of apartment.

Also you have been a QLer for only 48min. How do you know about this so called scam. Seen the place, gave them 1 year payment and know that yopu got ripped off all that in 48 min. Are you Superman? Please tell me your secret. I would love to cram 1 week of action into 48 min.
