PLEASE HELP MY SISTER FIND A JOB!

By virgo825

Hello everyone!

Again, I am imploring your help and goodness of heart in helping my sister find a job. As I have related on my previous post, she was given an offer by a well-known local company last 14th October only to retract the same offer in the evening.

Hence, we are grasping at straws at the moment. Her visa shall be expiring on Nov. 1. We could extend it by making an exit but as much as possible we are hoping that we shall come up with a better solution than that.

My sister is a Filipina, 28 years old, married and with four sons she left behind in the Philippines with the firm hope of finding a good job here to provide them with a good life.

I implore each one of you who may know of a job opening for her to advise me as to where we could send her CV for your evaluation prior to an interview or offer.

She is experienced as HR/ Payroll Assistant; well-adept in administrative skills and exhibited supervisory handling of manpower as demanded by her previous job. She has office management skills, presentable and also an efficient communicator.

I am praying that all her dreams for her family...her big sacrifice of leaving his sons behind will not come for naught.

Attached is her CV for your reference.

Thanks for your two cents worth. Fortunately, the company is a good one and the job is really in line with her skills and experience. The starting package is also good. I must say that I think everything fell into its place at the right time. And yes, FOUNDSOUL, GOD is really GOOD!

hi virgo, congratulations to you and your sister. However, i hope that the job she grabbed is not a job out of desperation (where you have below standard salary, and work like a horse), and i hope it is a job in line with what she knows and she is good at.

That is one mistake most people do, just because of competition and because their visa is about to end. I hope the homework is done, and you did not end-up saying... "Pwede na yan!, Kunin mo na yan kesa sa Wala".. or "Lipat na lang ng work na mas mataas ang sahod soon". As we all know its not that easy here in Doha to do such a thing.

Just my two cents, but other than that, congratulations! and good for you both!

A HAPPY ENDING, AT LAST!

My sister got the job this morning!

THE DAWN HAS COME BRINGING FORTH THE BURSTING BRILLIANCE OF THE DAY!

Another day has passed...

First, I would like to thank those who have advised me to take out my sister's CV on this post. I have been trying to but unfortunately, I couldn't edit my post. I don't know why.

As what I have posted last night, I shall make an update on the status of my sister's application. It has really been a gruelling experience - one that tested our faith...I know that many of you out there share the same feeling of anxiety and anguish as you count the minutes ticking until the deadline for your exit....really an excruciating and painful experience.

The day passed with my sister having no interviews. However, we received a call from one of the companies located in Industrial Area wherein she was interviewed yesterday. I extended my leave of absence, thinking that she would be interviewed this morning. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, the person who shall be interviewing was not readily available today. Thanks to an "Angel" in that office who gave her word that she will not let the day pass by without securing an appointment with the Interviewer. We were painfully waiting for the call and it came few minutes before lunch time. My sister shall be interviewed tomorrow morning at 7:00. I invoke your prayers and wishes for her success.

Unfortunately or fortunately for her, I will not be able to accompany her as I could no longer extend my leave. I leave her in God's hands, firmly believing that a miracle shall be taking place tomorrow. I am claiming it already as a blessing!

I hope that tomorrow evening, I shall bear the good news and finally conclude the "saga" happily.

To those out there who suffer the same fate...we are one with you. But let us not lose hope...As what I would tell myself before.. "HOPE IS NOT HOPE UNLESS IT IS THE ONLY THING YOU ARE HOLDING ON TO...."

I am hoping that as we pass through the dark night of agony, we shall go on without losing sight that the dawn shall finally come...

"the darkest moment is always before dawn..."

For today, my sister was interviewed at two companies in the industrial area. I am hopeful that any of the two shall be the one meant for her.

However, your prayers and best wishes are still needed as everything is still hanging at the moment.

If you still know of job vacancies, your information will be most welcomed.

Here I am, waiting for a miracle...I'll surely let all of you know what shall happen. I look forward to bringing you good news and a happy conclusion to this sad plight.

Have a nice evening everyone!

i agree with SN & labda about the privacy of the CV...try posting in the situation wanted section of the gulf times classifieds, it usually gives results especially if the qualifications stated there are quite impressive, potential employers might call her for an interview..

Interesting surname.

True though, you really shouldn't put up personal information on a public forum.
