Yeah i agree with you - Sakura is really good. Does anyone know of any other Japanese restaurants in Doha? I've my famiiy coming over for Christmas and sushi might be a welcomed break from turkey!

By anonymous• 10 Dec 2009 13:58

For me I have to add in Sakura as well. Ponderosor, I'd rather cut off my leg with a rusty knife and eat it raw....

I love my food and restaurants but always found myself eating in the same place. Did a search on the net and came across the website - www.diningindoha.com - they apparently have over 500 restaurants in Doha on it! Can search by location, price or cuisine. Found a Jamican restaurant on it and as a result this is now my NEW favourite place to eat! Hmmm...jerk chicken!!!

A reasonable and essential eating good is how you appreciate it. Wine is just complement not the all package that you have eaten. A secondary choice, I might say.

One BIG problem with many of the restaurants suggested above: I can't even get a glass of wine to complement my meal - an essential part of what makes eating good food really enjoyable is wine, my friends

I think Salman, every restaurants here in qatar has its own unique style and delicacies. There is specialties, I mean. Anyways, I really love to eat different food from different nationalities here!!! Jusy want to try if I can eat heheheh! But I learned to eat "Curry" now, before I hate it. But, Salamn is right also Turkey restaurant is more cheaper than any other RESTO here in Doha.

All the kerala shop offering "chaye" (Tea, 1 riyal per cup), Egg Sandwitch (2 riyal) and lunch (5 riyal per person) in industrial area is the best restaurant in Doha. Cause those very much helpful for low cost labour that's are major portion of Qatar population.

Anyone who thinks Ponderosa does a good steak has never had a decent steak in their life.

I was impressed with Pier 12 in the Ramada Plaza. I also liked the Tapas restaurant there on the 1st floor, and the Indian restaurant on the ground floor. Caravan restaurant across from Ramada was good value.

Try Maxim Rest. at Ramada... Its Frensh, and yummy, although its sophisticated and romantic… Not for casual going-outs..

Asia Life at the Marriot is good too...

Italian Job at Ramada is the best though.

Patatas sucks.... As Tag said the service is atrocious... and the waiting or kitchen staff (maybe both?) are a bunch of nobs....

I ordered a Phili Steak and Cheese sandwich... WITH NO MUSHROOMS... 3 times they brought me a sandwich with mushrooms... 3 TIMES!!

My friend ordered a Chicken Ceaser Salad and got cold chicken that seemed to be about 3 days old....

if you like asian foods i suggest you give Thai restaurant a visit.

if you love steak try Ponderosa Steak house.

But if you like a cool place to hang out I recommend PATATAS, the ambiance is very nice and the food is very delicious especially the sandwiches and the potatoes who comes in different varieties.

1. Benigan's , Diplomatic area, best potato soup and good in general

2. Biella, the mall, best italian food and best service, try seafood ressoto and mushroom soap.

3. Ciao, salwa rd. near midmac R/A, best home made pasta, little more expensive than biella, but biella service is better.

4. Thai rest. , Nasr street, my favorite, try everything , it's all worth it.

5. Ponderosa steak house, Ramada signal, try their steak , it's so yummy.

6. silver cafe, best salads, tasty chicken and good burgers, good service and internet access free.

7. Italian job, Ramada hotel, not best italian pasta but u can have a glass of wine with ur meal.

8. Lebanese restaurants, u can try Layali salwa rd. or Al Saha, and Sob7 w masa, best food, best service.

9. Monn palace, korean restuarant, i love it.

*** Don't try Patata's, they have worst service and there's always a missing ingredient, apple bees, only if u looking for ambiance , they over chrage and serve smaller portions compared to others, none of the chinese restuarnts are worth it here , the one in city center is the best when it comes to taste.

if you like fish and chips with a bottle of beer, u can try Gravey's , it's all english and american people, but if you are non smoker u will suffocate inside.

enjoy ur meals

cheers
