it is totaly true , it depends only on recommendations not on qualifications. forget to find job without knowing someone in the organization.
this behaviour is very common in qatar , and that is affect the system of work and you can realize that for customer service of Telecom. company , if they are selected well then you can see good performance in problem solving because they are good to fill the position.
that is also why most of gulf are indians , coz they bring their relatives and friends regardless of fittness and qualifications , that is the key of indianization in qatar beside their small salary.
I agree with you people. Most of the good jobs with high pays are filled by relatives/friends of those cunning people in those organization. Reference and recommendation is key player in getting job these days in Qatar and elsewhere in gulf area. Skills, qualification and experience has no much meaning in front of your PASSPORT and commendation.
Hello M_Ahmad,Anybody can reccommend others for the jobs but reccommendation should not be the sole criteria for selection.It should be on merit.I wonder that you are not aware of the selection process for IT jobs.For any IT jobs,softs kills like communication skills,presentation skills,assertive skills,negotiation skills etc are tested by the interviewer apart from techincal skills.In the case of QP,the recruiter selects only his friends/relatives/known guys.
Although the above comment MAY well be true in some cases, but there is generally a good reason for such recommendations too.. People who know other people who have worked well in some projects in the past and have good references, companies prefer them over getting someone completely new who might not fit well.
In IT, as much as any other job, its not all about knowing the technical stuff, its to do with "Soft Skills" too (i-e dealing with people, conflict management, project management, communication skills, management skills etc etc) which some candidates lack in.
i heard that already specially in QP. for us, we are still hoping for good jobs.. i know they are a lot of cunning guys here.. seems unfair, specially to us skilled and who deserves it.:(
Hello guys,The days are gone when you can think of getting good job in gulf countries.Now-a-days,you may not even get a call/mail for interview from the recruiter as your resume is rejected by some smart and cunning guys in the same organistion even if you have the relevant certifications and experience.The companies will post the jobs on their websites just as a formality but finally these jobs will be filled with less competent guys who are the relatives/friends of those cunning guys in the same organistion.This is true in the case of companies like Qatar Petroleum etc.For example,SAP recruitment process in QP now is 100 percent illegal as many qualified guys
are not considered even for the initial phase of interview so as to reserve the posts for the lucky relatives/friends of those cunning guys in QP.So stop dreaming now.
