Petra is one of the new wonders of the world. I have stayed in Aqaba for 2 days last year on my Egypt-Jordan trip aand the place is really interesting. Petra is a must-see though my son didn't didn't liked it, I did.

I would love to visit Palmyra(Tadmur) too. And last of all I will visit the Temple of Bacchus in Lebanon. Do they have a winery there?

When I was in school stumbled across this ancient city of Petra in a Tintin comic book, The Red Sea Shark- Herge, See Page 28 & 29.
The partisans of Emir Ben Kalish Ezab who was the Emir of Wadesdah(Khemed), making their journey from Wadesdah to Jebel. This was after Ben Kalish Ezab was overthrown by Bab-El-Ehr.
Jebel(Hilly Region) seems to be Petra if you see the picture in Page 28 and 29.
I think, this is the same site, where Indiana Jones and the last Crusade's final scene was shot.
